Not playing! Out for 2026! Spurs first-round pick undergoes right knee surgery.

Reporter Siegel reports:Jaden Quaintance successfully underwent right knee surgery, with no return timetable. He is expected to miss the early part of next season and might not return until sometime next year.

This guy was born on July 11, 2007, and is a 2.08m tall power forward/center with a 2.26m wingspan, the 20th pick in the 2026 first round.

Quaintance played for Kentucky last season, averaging 16.8 minutes, 5 points, and 5 rebounds per game, with a shooting percentage of 57.1%.

TA reporter Jared Weiss commented: Before this year's draft, teams that scouted Quaintance all predicted he would undergo surgery and miss most of his rookie season; the Spurs chose to select him with the 20th pick in the first round despite his injury concerns because he performed exceptionally well in the "one-on-zero" workout session...

In short, Quaintance is a very talented rookie, so the Spurs are willing to take a gamble on him. Someday he might become the best frontcourt partner for Victor Wembanyama, together forming the most impenetrable no-fly zone in the league.
