Brownie Cultivation Program Exposed! After five consecutive away games, he went to the Development League to give up to make more money playing in the NBA

On October 26, Beijing time, according to ESPN, James' eldest son Bronny is expected to participate in the team's next road trip (five consecutive away trips between October 29 and November 7), and then be sent to the Development League to start the team's round trip to the Development League.

Shams said on the show that Bronny was not afraid and was even willing to go to the Development League. "If Bronny hadn't played basketball, he could have used his influence to make more money by signing other contracts off the court, but he wanted to be an NBA player, and going to the Development League was part of that."

The Lakers made history by beating the Timberwolves in their opener, and James and Bronny became the first father-son duo ever to play in the same NBA regular season. After playing the Suns today, the Lakers will continue to play the Kings at home, and then start a five-game road trip against the Suns, Cavaliers, Raptors, Pistons and Grizzlies on the road.

For Bronny, the away game against the Cavaliers was also a big moment. Brownie was born on October 7, 2004, in Akron, not far from Cleveland. The training camp for the Development Alliance will run until Nov. 8.

Sources told ESPN that the concept of a development league was welcomed when Bronny and his agent, Rich Paul, discussed development issues with NBA teams ahead of the draft. Rich Paul insisted on a standard contract for Bronny before the draft, rather than a two-way contract, while making it clear that he and Bronny fully understand and are willing to embrace such a development process, the sources said.

When James first commented on Bronny's plans for his rookie season at Media Day last month, he talked about how the Lakers are aligned with their development league affiliates.

"I'm just [looking forward to] seeing him continue to grow as a basketball player, whether it's with us or developing a league team, he's going to continue to get better and better," James said, "and his job is to work hard and get better and better, just like the rest of us." We want him to be accountable, and he will hold us accountable. If we all do that, we're all better because we're all a team. We are a reflection of the South Bay (Lakers) and the South Bay is a reflection of us. ”

Players who are drafted in the mid-to-late second round typically spend time in the Development League, getting opportunities at their respective team's affiliates, being coached, and knowing the game better. In the 2023-24 season, 23 of the 28 players selected in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft spent time in the Development League.

Redick was hired without any head coaching experience, in part because he wanted to build an elite player development program for Los Angeles, and he said Bronny's development trajectory would be his first chance to implement his own approach.

"For us, prioritizing player development, we think Bronny is like a case study because of his basic touch, athleticism, offensive point defense, shooting, passing, and there's a lot to appreciate about his game," Redick said in July. "As we fully establish a player development program, he will have a great chance of becoming a good NBA player."

South Bay also has a new coach this season, with the Lakers hiring Zach Guthrie to replace Dan Johnson last month.
