Here it comes! The Guangdong team has completed its first trade! They have signed the 23+5 dual-position guard.

According to well-known domestic media sources, the Guangdong team has reached a trade agreement with the Guangzhou team, acquiring the priority re-signing rights for Jarell McCall and completing the signing.

McCall, aged 31, is a dual-position guard standing at 1.96 meters. He played 16 games last season, averaging 28.6 minutes per game, scoring 22.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2.1 steals, with shooting percentages of 44.6%, 39.6%, and 79.6%. He is versatile in both offensive and defensive roles, making him a great fit alongside Hu Mingxuan and Xu Jie.

The Guangzhou team, currently in a major expansion phase, is not only selling local players but is also able to profit from foreign players... Their poor performance doesn't matter as long as they can make a significant profit.

It's worth mentioning that, according to Beijing media outlet "Daily Sports," there were previously other teams in contact with the Guangzhou team hoping to acquire Cui Yongxi, but the deal fell through due to uncertainties regarding whether he would remain in the U.S.

In September last year, Cui Yongxi signed a two-way contract with the Nets, but in December, he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. He is expected to return from injury in September this year. If an NBA team offers him an opportunity, he may make it to the new season's training camp and compete in the preseason for a two-way contract to return to the league.

Last season, Cui Yongxi played 5 regular-season games for the Nets, averaging two minutes per game, scoring 0.6 points and grabbing 0.4 rebounds. In the G League, he played 6 games, averaging 14 minutes per game, contributing 5.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1 assist.

If returning to the NBA fails, Cui Yongxi may come back to play in the CBA, which will start its 25-26 season this December. Therefore, the door for the former's trade can only be said to be temporarily closed, not completely shut.

According to rumors, the Beikong team is the most active and likely team to acquire Cui Yongxi, offering estimated trade assets including the number one overall pick from the 2023 draft, Chen Guohao, and a substantial amount of cash. If this deal goes through, it would be the biggest trade of the year.

In the last regular season, the Beikong team achieved a record of 27 wins and 19 losses, ranking 11th in the league. In the first round of this year's playoffs, they swept the Shandong team 2-0, but lost in the second round 1-3 to their city rivals, the Beijing team.
