On July 22, according to renowned reporter Shams, the Lakers signed Christian Koloko and Chris Manon with two-way contracts. Following this, Lakers media and officials announced that Dickson and Jamison were released. Consequently, the Lakers' new 14+2 roster is established, with LeBron James and Luka Doncic leading the team for a championship run.
In June of this year, the Lakers extended a qualifying offer to Koloko, making him a restricted free agent. It was expected that he would return to the Lakers, but he also attracted interest from other teams.
The Cameroonian center was selected 33rd overall in the 2022 draft and showed potential as a rookie in Toronto during the 2022-23 season. However, his career was hindered by blood clot issues, preventing him from playing the entire 2023-24 season. Last fall, he received medical clearance to continue playing and subsequently signed a two-way contract with the Lakers.
Last season, Koloko played in 37 games for the Lakers, averaging 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per game. He also played 12 games for the Lakers' G League affiliate (South Bay Lakers), averaging 14.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks in 29.6 minutes per game.
Koloko participated in 5 games during the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 7.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 2.6 blocks in 17.5 minutes per game.
Chris Manon is a swingman who went undrafted after graduating from Vanderbilt University last month. Shams noted that he played for the Warriors in both the California Classic Summer League and the Las Vegas Summer League.
During his four-year college career, Manon excelled at creating turnovers for opponents, spending his first three years at Cornell University. In just 19.6 minutes of average playing time, he averaged 9.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 53.5%, 30.4% from three, and 72.8% from the free-throw line.
According to RealGM data, the 23-year-old wing player played a total of 7 games in the summer league for the Golden State Warriors (averaging 17.1 minutes), where he averaged 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.4 blocks with shooting percentages of 44.2%, 28.6%, and 67.6%.
Once Koloko and Manon's contracts officially take effect, the Lakers will have one two-way contract slot available. Last season, Jamison played 22 games for the Lakers, averaging 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds.
Reportedly, shortly after going undrafted in June, the Lakers agreed to sign former Villanova forward Eric Dickson to a two-way contract. He has now also been released. Dickson previously suffered a foot injury that prevented him from participating in the summer league.
Assuming the Lakers will ultimately have a standard roster of 15 players (the team may start the new season with 14), Koloko and Manon can play up to 50 games next season. Both will have a salary of $636,435 for the 2025-26 season. The current Lakers 14+2 roster is as follows—
14 players on standard contracts: James, Doncic, Hachimura, Reeves, Vanderbilt, Vincent, Kleber, Ayton, Laravia, Smart, Knecht, Hayes, Bronny, Tiero
2 players on two-way contracts: Koloko, Manon
