Confirmed! Officially announces departure from the Rockets! 7’6” wingspan big man.

The Hawks offered Rockets restricted two-way player Nfaly Dante a two-year, $4.5 million deal, but the Rockets chose not to match the offer. Therefore, the Hawks have officially announced Dante’s addition to the team.

Dante, born October 19, 2001, is 23 years old and a center with a 2.11-meter height and 2.29-meter wingspan. Last season in the G League, he posted averages of 15.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 1 steal, shooting an impressive 74.3%. For the Rockets, he appeared in four regular-season games, averaging 12.8 minutes, 6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks with a 76.9% field goal percentage.

He’s shown great readiness to contribute, but it’s not surprising the Rockets let him go, considering they already have Sengun, Adams, and Capela in the frontcourt.

American media predicts the Rockets’ starting lineup next season will be VanVleet, Amen, Durant, Jabari Smith Jr., and Sengun.

That’s right—Amen, at 2.01 meters tall, will play shooting guard, greatly boosting the team’s athleticism and defensive intensity in the backcourt, though it may limit their offensive spacing.

Most believe Amen has the potential to become a two-way superstar, but he’s still a work in progress, especially with his shooting. In the 2024-25 regular season, he averaged 14.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks, making 0.4 threes per game at a 27.5% clip; in the playoffs, he posted 15.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and hit 0.1 threes per game at 25% accuracy.

Frankly, Amen was almost no threat from three last season, but word is he’s been working relentlessly on his shot this summer. Will he show improvement in the new season? Let’s wait and see.

Some players can develop a jumper, while others just never manage to do so.

And as reality shows, players in today’s league who lack a shooting ability rarely make a significant impact.

Amen is only 22, about to enter his third season. As long as he stays determined, hard work pays off—no one wants to be the next Simmons.

Don’t pretend to work hard; results never lie. And maintaining long-term health is crucial—only then can talent truly be fulfilled!
