But Zhao Yun goes beyond that, as his pick rate is also over 10%. This means his high win rate isn't solely driven by specialist players like Athena, but reflects the overall performance of all players, making it more credible and persuasive in terms of strength.

In other tiers, the data in high-level ranked matches is even more impressive than the overall tier, while his performance in peak matches is slightly less outstanding, but still solid overall.

Where does Zhao Yun's strength lie?

After several adjustments and reworks, Zhao Yun has largely addressed his long-standing pain points:

Mobility greatly enhanced. Zhao Yun's mobility wasn't originally poor, but his first skill's dash distance was too short, and his ultimate, while also providing dash effects, was his only control skill and easily missed. Now, Zhao Yun's first skill dash distance has been increased to some extent, and his ultimate includes a cooldown refund if no target is hit. This allows Zhao Yun to use these skills more flexibly for movement, significantly boosting his mobility.

Damage reduction capability more prominent. Zhao Yun's passive determines damage reduction ratio based on his health level; generally, lower health leads to higher damage reduction. However, the issue was that when health was quite low, even with a high damage reduction ratio, there was a high chance Zhao Yun would be defeated directly, meaning the damage reduction didn't fulfill its intended effect. Therefore, subsequent adjustments introduced a shield mechanism: health restored at specific thresholds converts into a permanent shield. This allows Zhao Yun's damage reduction ratio to remain high, and his survivability is strengthened due to the shield, making him truly more capable of enduring and fighting.

The most crucial point is that Zhao Yun belongs to the warrior class, making him tougher than assassins, and with damage reduction加持, his error tolerance is relatively higher. Even if there's an operational mistake, he won't die immediately. This is very friendly for beginners who rarely play jungle. Plus, Zhao Yun himself doesn't have complex mechanics, being a simple and easy-to-learn hero. After all, in the earliest version of Honor of Kings, the hero given in the first purchase gift pack was Zhao Yun,足以说明 this hero is indeed relatively simple. Everyone can give him a try~
