Playing Honor of Kings World and receiving a free skin—still only giving an Epic quality? Players say: Only if they give a Legendary will they consider it

Hello everyone, I’m Game Xiaodi.

In the preview content a few days ago, the officials mentioned that to encourage players to experience Honor of Kings World, they specially created a new skin as a reward. Unexpectedly, this skin was revealed today. But what Xiaodi didn’t expect is that this skin’s quality is still not high—just like the previous Luban No.7 Speed Agent, it’s an Epic quality skin, named Mozi Shard of Light Executor. Let’s take a look!

Mozi Shard of Light Executor

This skin has a rather unique appearance. Mozi is usually seen in mecha form, with only the Demon-Suppressor and Gold Scorpio being humanoid. This Shard of Light Executor looks like a mecha form wearing a gold-trimmed dark blue suit, retaining elegant details like a suit lapel, tailored waist, and white stand-up collar shirt, while incorporating mecha shoulder armor and mechanical arm structures. The officials call it a clever fusion of “elegant uniform × future mecha.”

As for the skin’s special effects, since it’s only an Epic quality skin, the effects mainly change the color scheme. This time the colors are blue-purple, giving a dreamy feel. There is also a small detail: when using the first skill’s second phase, second skill, and ultimate, irregular crystal patterns appear, which is a new element added to this skin. For this reason alone, this Epic skin’s standard is relatively high.

How to Obtain

This skin is a reward specifically for Honor of Kings’ own IP game, Honor of Kings World, to celebrate the start of Season 1. Players need to go to Honor of Kings World and complete the corresponding tasks to obtain it. Although the specific event details haven’t been announced yet, you can refer to the previous event for Luban No.7 Speed Agent. The event starts on the 29th and lasts until the end of Honor of Kings World Season 1. Of course, if you don’t want the hassle, you can also wait until the event ends and exchange it in the skin fragment shop using 48 skin fragments—much more convenient.

In fact, to encourage players to experience Honor of Kings World, the officials have given away skin rewards three times: the first time was a random six-choice-one from six past Epic skins, including Hua Mulan’s Crystal Hunter, Da Qiao’s White Snake, etc.; the second time was the aforementioned Luban No.7 Speed Agent, a new Epic quality skin now available in the fragment shop; the third time is this new Epic skin for Mozi. I wonder if you choose to complete the tasks to get this skin, or just wait for it to be available for direct exchange later?

For players who aren’t very interested in Honor of Kings World, they can simply wait for the skin fragment exchange, or even skip it altogether. After all, Mozi already has quite a few skins, like Metal Storm and Dragon Knight, which can be directly exchanged. So this skin is just icing on the cake—not particularly urgent.

Moreover, to be honest, if the officials really want to encourage players to try the IP game, the effort seems half-hearted! If they truly wanted to attract players, the best way would be to offer a Legendary quality skin. This quality of skin is still quite rare in the game—only given away once or twice before, like Yun Ying’s Mirage Light Gun. I’m sure many players would be happy to do the tasks for that. Even a step down, offering some direct-sale Legendary skins from the past could attract some players, especially ones like Yi Nian Shen Mo or Midsummer Night’s Dream. Taking another step back, a new Epic skin could also work—choose a popular hero like Angela or Yao, and many players would be willing to play. But an Epic skin like this, even though it’s new, really holds no appeal—especially for a hero like Mozi who isn’t super popular. It shows a complete lack of sincerity, and I honestly don’t recommend doing the tasks.

That’s all for now. If you found this helpful, feel free to give a like to support. If you have anything to say, ask, or want to see, leave a comment below—I’ll read them all!

Nothing is unknown, nothing is untold; I am Xiaodi, chatting freely!
