Hello everyone, I'm Game Xiaodi.
Sun Shangxiang has finally gotten a new skin, but regrettably, it's not for Honor of Kings—it's for Honor of Kings World. This time, Honor of Kings World has entered its S1 season, and the developers have added Sun Shangxiang to the game, along with a brand new skin for her. Surprisingly, this skin is a completely original design rather than a port from Honor of Kings. Called "Golden Crown Ritual," it features a white-and-yellow color scheme that looks very pleasing to the eye, with highly detailed modeling. Seeing such an exquisite skin, one can't help but feel sorry for Sun Shangxiang's current situation in Honor of Kings.

Sun Shangxiang has always been a popular hero in Honor of Kings, so she has quite a few skins—10 in total excluding Star skins, five of which are legendary. However, since the release of the Year of the Dragon limited skin "Riding the Dragon • Asking Xuanji," no new skins have been launched for her. The only update was a Star skin for "Time Lover," which was already over 800 days ago. This is truly surprising.

Although there are no new skins, some previous skins have had activity: First, the aforementioned Year of the Dragon limited skin "Riding the Dragon • Asking Xuanji" made its first return in the recent May 5th Black Festival Fantasy Shop, and at a discounted price, which surprised many players. Second, during the One-Yuan Welfare Week event, the developers added Sun Shangxiang's "Time Lover" skin to the lucky draw pool. This skin is extremely popular due to its style that resonates well with players, so its inclusion in such an event was also unexpected. Finally, "Roses Lover" also returned in the Treasure Pavilion during the May 5th Black Festival, but most players likely don't have enough Rose Hearts (125) to exchange for it, so not many would have redeemed it.

Apart from skins, Sun Shangxiang's current strength is also not high. Her performance across all rank tiers is particularly poor, with a win rate of only about 45%, ranking second-to-last among all marksmen, only better than Gongsun Li. It's worth noting that this data comes after a minor buff in April, but that buff didn't seem to help much—it still couldn't save her win rate.

Actually, it gets worse. In higher-tier peak matches and top-tier games, Sun Shangxiang's win rate remains at only 47%, also ranking among the lowest. So there's no improvement—her current strength is indeed insufficient.
The root cause is mainly the shift in the marksman meta. Most marksmen have moved toward the on-hit build, with items like Blade of Wickedness and Lightning Dagger becoming the mainstream. However, due to her own mechanics, Sun Shangxiang still relies on a critical strike build, making her struggle to adapt to the current version. Naturally, her strength has declined significantly. That said, some adjustments are rumored for the new season—who knows if they will benefit Sun Shangxiang.

That's all for today. If you liked it, feel free to give a like to support me. If you have anything to say, ask, or want to see, leave your comments below—I'll read them all!~
