Directly rushing a third-tier jungle item? Faster pace + higher rewards! A clever trick used by national server players

Hello everyone, I am Game Xiaodi.

Recently, I've noticed a new trend among junglers: almost all of them are choosing to prioritize the third-tier jungle item, with some even rushing it directly. In the past, the common approach was to first upgrade to the second-tier jungle item, then start building other equipment, and only upgrade to the third-tier after getting three or four items. So what caused this change?

Removal of Passive Effects from Small Items

In previous seasons, Honor of Kings made changes to equipment, removing passive effects from all small items and retaining only basic stats. This had a significant impact because many heroes used to rely on building multiple small items for a transitional phase. With the removal of passives, that strategy became nearly worthless, so now everyone goes straight for completed items. The same applies to jungle items: the second-tier item had decent passive effects, but after they were removed, its value dropped significantly. It's now more cost-effective to directly build the third-tier jungle item, as it offers comparable stats to the old combination of second-tier item plus "Meteor" while also providing passive bonuses. Clearly, it's the better choice.

Frequent Need for Lane Sharing

As everyone knows, to balance the economy distribution between junglers and laners, when a jungler with a tier 1 or tier 2 jungle item shares lane minions, it doesn't take away the laner's original gold and experience but instead grants an additional 50% experience and gold bonus. However, with a tier 3 jungle item, this restriction is removed: instead of the laner getting 100% and the jungler 50%, both receive 80% of the minion gold and experience. This significantly increases the jungler's income from lane sharing, naturally accelerating their development. Of course, this disadvantages the laner somewhat, but from a team perspective, overall gold income is higher—about 10% more than before. This is why AG Super Play remained at the top for so long; their strategy of sharing minion waves played a huge role.

Increased Jungle Clear Speed

Last but not least, almost every jungler prioritizes clear speed. The faster you clear the jungle, the sooner you can leave the jungle and help teammates gank lanes. With the same jungle path, arriving a few seconds earlier can lead to a kill, giving your team an advantage and positively influencing the overall game. The tier 3 jungle item deals noticeably more damage to monsters than the tier 2 item, not to mention its improved stats and bonuses. Even junglers with naturally slower clear speeds may find themselves clearing faster than some fast-clearing junglers who only have a tier 2 item once they get the tier 3 item.

In summary, rushing the third-tier jungle item is indeed a solid strategy right now. It may lack a bit in terms of attack speed and feel, but the damage output is clearly higher. Feel free to give it a try!
