Honor of Kings has launched Season S44. How is your ranking going? There are quite a few changes this season. Besides equipment and hero adjustments, the most important addition is a new adaptive class item called the "Formless Artifact". This item has significantly impacted all heroes, leading to many changes in win rates this season. As a result, the best heroes for ranking have shifted somewhat. In this article, Xiaodi will recommend the most suitable heroes for each role in the new season.

Support: Cai Wenji

Currently sporting a 52.3% win rate and 14% pick rate, she is the best support hero combining both stats. Last season, Cai Wenji already performed well with the "Convergence of Troops" (actually "Assemble" summoner spell? But the text says "汇流为兵" which is a past season feature; I'll keep it as "Converge as Soldiers" or just "the previous season's boost"). This season, the Formless Artifact also suits her well. Its effect for mage supports is similar to "Star Spring" (an item), enhancing her ultimate's healing even further, perhaps even more noticeable than the previous season's summoner spell bonus. The item's magic power is also very beneficial for Cai Wenji since her healing scales with magic power. Overall, her strength has increased even more.

Mid Lane: Zhen Ji

Currently with a 53% win rate and 12.6% pick rate, this stands out in the mid lane. After her rework, Zhen Ji's combat ability improved significantly, especially in late-game team fights. However, subsequent adjustments weakened her somewhat. Fortunately, this season's Formless Artifact fits her well. Since Zhen Ji relies heavily on skill usage, the cooldown reduction from the Formless Artifact is very helpful, allowing her to apply frozen marks more frequently. The more she uses them, the more freezes she can land in team fights, thus boosting her strength considerably.

Marksman: Consort Yu (Gala)

Currently at a 55.1% win rate and 10.7% pick rate, her win rate is almost unmatched—1% higher than the second-place hero (Laisio/Lei Xi'ao? Actually "莱西奥" is "Laisio"? In English version it's "Laisio"? But keep as "Laisio"? Or "Lucius"? I'll use "Laisio" as it's common). Consort Yu's strength is not surprising. She is rarely targeted in all ranks, and this season's nerf to on-hit (magic damage) builds barely affects her, as she mainly relies on attack speed and critical hits for damage. Thus, she has been indirectly buffed. With these trade-offs, her power has increased. However, her self-preservation is still somewhat weak, and she needs to play conservatively in the early game.

Top Lane: Li Xin

Currently at a 54.1% win rate and 19.3% pick rate. Although many players believe Li Xin has been heavily affected this season, data shows he has actually been strengthened. His pick rate is approaching 20% while his win rate steadily rises. The hero is mostly played in his berserk form, focusing on split-pushing and pressure. Split-pushing gives him high gold income while relieving pressure on the main battlefield. In losing games, Li Xin is crucial, often enabling comebacks through this playstyle.

Jungle: Zhao Yun

Currently at a 52% win rate and 10.8% pick rate (note: text says "52.%" which is likely 52.0%? We'll write 52%). Zhao Yun's strength transcends seasons. He performed well last season and was even recommended for end-of-season ranking. This season his win rate seems even higher. His own power is undeniable, as his mechanics have become quite polished—previous pain points like short dash distance and unreasonable damage reduction have been addressed. Additionally, this season's Formless Artifact suits Zhao Yun as a warrior-type rather than the common assassin-type for junglers. This is beneficial for him because he lacks sustain; his second skill's healing is too small. The item's attack power boost is also useful. Zhao Yun typically builds half-tank, so any extra attack power is welcome.

The heroes recommended for each role this time are almost all combinations of high win rates and high pick rates, so they are relatively reliable. Of course, the data mainly comes from all ranks; higher ranks may not be as applicable.
