Hello everyone, I'm Xiaodi.

The S44 season only started a week ago, and there’s already an emergency update enhancing three heroes: Ying, Lan, and Irene. This is because after the seasonal win rates for all heroes were revealed, the numbers for these three were disappointing. Irene, Lan, and Ying all had win rates under 50%, which clearly seemed abnormal, hence the immediate introduction of buffs. Many friends have asked me, Xiaodi, which hero really took off after these buffs? Let’s discuss that in this episode.

Ying received the biggest boost, and her win rate has already soared.

In this season, Ying essentially underwent a minor rework. However, compared to heroes like Bian Que, Ying’s rework wasn’t very successful, as she consistently stayed below 50%. Nevertheless, after this buff, Ying’s strength has significantly improved.

Initially, many people weren’t optimistic about this buff, merely noting that the cooldown for her second skill was changed from starting after the skill ends to beginning immediately upon use. They felt this wouldn’t address Ying’s current weaknesses. However, the data later proved many players wrong. Ying’s stats are now very healthy, with win rates exceeding 50% across all tiers, and some segments saw notable increases. Therefore, Ying is now a very worthwhile hero to try. I encourage you all to give her a shot.

Irene received a buff, but it’s somewhat marginal.

After the S44 season update, Irene was arguably one of the most impacted heroes. Her ranked win rate dropped directly below 50% due to various reasons, including changes to on-hit items, the release of a new skin, and the addition of new equipment. This buff mainly tweaked her ultimate damage but was very conservative, adding only slight increases to both AD and AP. As a result, her win rate barely rose and failed to break 50%.

Currently, Irene has roughly three main builds: some stick to the original on-hit build, others adopt the new non-crit burst build suited to the new equipment, and some use the traditional crit build. As to which build is superior, there is no consensus yet, and it may take some time to determine.

Lan’s buff feels like a flimsy patch—still underwhelming.

As for Lan, his buff focused on his second skill, similar to Irene’s treatment, with a slight increase in numbers, though not much. Consequently, Lan’s win rate saw a minor uptick but still remains below 50%. However, Lan is a hero highly sensitive to stat adjustments, and even a small numerical increase can lead to strong performance. That’s why the developers aren’t likely to give him too much at once.

Overall, Lan’s current strength still seems to fall short of expectations, with his overall win rate not yet reaching the ideal numbers. It’s uncertain whether there will be any further adjustments in the future; we can only wait and hope.

That’s all for now. If you found this interesting, feel free to leave a like to show support. If you have anything to share, ask, or want to see, drop your thoughts in the comments—I’ll be sure to check them!
