Hello everyone, I'm Game Xiao Di.
Just now, Honor of Kings finally announced the news about the Da Siming FMVP skin. This is the FMVP skin chosen by Zhongyi, the jungler of Chengdu AG, after winning the 2024 Honor of Kings Challenger Cup. I have to say the wait has been really long, almost two years, which sets a new record for the longest production time from selection to release of an FMVP skin series. Today, Xiao Di will take an early look at this long-awaited skin~

Currently, this skin only has one promotional image, with almost no further details released. The specific revelations will have to wait until the special launch event at 6 PM tonight. So friends who want to see the details, remember to lock in on the live stream. Of course, Xiao Di will also introduce more details as soon as possible later.
After looking at this promotional image, it really feels like a lot of thought was put into it. The main color scheme is a mix of gold and red, with a huge golden light pouring down from the top of the image. Da Siming stands alone on layered floating stone platforms, with broken mountains and scattered flames on both sides, and clouds swirling beneath his feet. Compared to the oppressive blue-black underworld feel of Da Siming's original skin, this one goes completely in the opposite direction, emphasizing a sky-piercing momentum.

The poster also echoes the official copy. The tagline reads, "You only need to know that the high heavens and perilous paths all make way for me." In the image, Da Siming stands at the highest point looking down on everything, giving a sense of looking down upon all beings. So overall, this skin gives a rather domineering feel. Of course, specific details will have to wait for later revelations.

After talking about the skin, we have to talk about the hero Da Siming himself, which is what makes many players most melancholy. The latest data shows: an all-segment win rate of 49.3%, dropping to 48.2% in peak matches above 1350 points, and falling directly to 46.8% in top-tier ranked matches. The pick rate has also decreased from 11.5% to just over 7%. The ban rate has plummeted from 8.5% across all segments to just over 1% in high-end games. The win rate decreases stepwise as the segment rises, a typical sign that he's still playable in low-level games but almost nowhere to be seen in high-level ones. And the ban rate dropping to 1% shows that top players no longer bother banning him—they don't see him as a threat anymore.

Why is that? Naturally, his overly strong performance upon release led to consecutive adjustments. Perhaps each adjustment wasn't fatal on its own, but the cumulative effect, along with version environment changes, directly reduced Da Siming's jungle clearing efficiency and kiting ability. His performance has naturally declined significantly. Two years ago, during his peak, Da Siming was truly a T0 hero. A full combo could kill squishy targets instantly, while he himself was very tanky. Coupled with his ultimate's massive healing, many heroes had no counterplay. It's a pity that his strength is no longer there. I wonder how many players are still willing to buy the new skin for Da Siming?
Apart from Da Siming's FMVP skin, there are actually several more skins queued up. Although Honor of Kings' production time has been extended, the tournament schedule hasn't changed, still producing two fixed skins per year. So there are three more behind, in order: Yi Nuo's Goya FMVP skin, Nuan Yang's Kai FMVP skin, and Xin's Zhong Kui FMVP skin. Who knows when they will finally arrive?

I still hope that Honor of Kings can see the players' wait and speed up the production pace for the upcoming ones. Waiting one or two years for an FMVP skin—sometimes the player might not even be in the arena anymore, or the hero's strength might change drastically like this one. So they should speed up as needed and not make expectations wait too long.

That's all for the content. If you think it's good, feel free to give a like to support. If there's anything you want to say, ask, or see, leave your footprints in the comments—I'll check them all~
