Hello everyone, this is Game Xiaodi.

After Bian Que's rework in the new season, the stats show he's doing quite well: his ranked win rate across all tiers reached 51.66%, with a pick rate of 12.20%, placing him in T2 popularity. Overall, it seems the rework was successful. Actually, before the rework, some players had already developed a strategy of taking Bian Que to the development lane. Now that the rework is here, can this strategy still work? I believe many of you are curious about this, so let's discuss it in this episode.

Advantages of Bian Que in the development lane

Based on actual testing, Bian Que is still viable in the development lane. The first advantage is fast wave clear. Bian Que's skills all have area-of-effect, allowing him to quickly clear all minion waves—faster than most marksmen. Early on, he can clear the wave and then support the mid lane or invade the jungle more quickly, giving him a more proactive tempo compared to other marksmen. This initiative is something other marksmen can't provide, and it's one of the core strengths of taking Bian Que in the development lane.

The second advantage is that his power spike comes earlier than most marksmen. Most marksmen need at least three items to become effective, but Bian Que's power spike comes sooner. Currently, it feels like two items are enough—typically the Undying Artifact and Dreamrender Fang. So during mid-game small-scale team fights, he contributes much more than a marksman, often allowing you to set the pace while the enemy marksman is still farming.

The third advantage is better survivability. Bian Que has strong healing capabilities, which makes him much more durable than a typical marksman. So he doesn't lose trades easily in lane. If paired with a protective support like Zhang Fei or Bull Demon, Bian Que can exert extreme lane pressure and gain an advantage more easily.

Points to note

Of course, taking Bian Que in the development lane also has drawbacks. First, team composition matters: you can't have too much magic damage on your team. If the jungler and top laner are already magic-based heroes like Luna, Mi Yue, or Sima Yi, and the mid laner is naturally a mage, then adding Bian Que in the development lane means the enemy can all build a Witch's Cloak, making it miserable for your whole team. It's best to pick him at the 4th or 5th pick, preferably when the jungler or top laner is a physical damage dealer, so you have a mixed damage composition that makes it harder for the enemy to itemize against you.

Second, you need to actively participate in team fights. Most marksmen farm early, farm mid, and only start team fighting late. But Bian Que's strength lies in sustained damage and team-wide healing during fights. If you just farm solo, you won't realize his value. By mid-game, you should stick with your team to push, stacking poison and healing in fights—that's the correct way to play him. Small skirmishes in the mid river or near the dragon pit are his ideal battlefield. Once you stack enough poison and use his ultimate, the effect is excellent.

Finally, don't hesitate to use his ultimate and the resurrection. Bian Que's ultimate has a very short cooldown, even shorter with the Undying Artifact. So whether it's for damage or to pressure HP, just use it—don't deliberately wait for five stacks of poison. Sometimes three stacks combined with teammate damage is enough. Also, regarding the passive resurrection, although you only have three chances, late-game team fights change rapidly. If you lose a fight, you might be pushed back to your tower with no time or chance to resurrect teammates. So when you have a suitable opportunity to resurrect a teammate, use it decisively—don't always save it for later.

That's all for today. If you found it helpful, feel free to leave a like to support. If you have anything to say, ask, or want to see, leave a comment—I'll read them all!
