A score of 15.8 still isn’t top-tier! How competitive are Agudo’s ratings? Being in the top 1% is just the baseline.

Hello everyone, I’m Game Xiaodi.

Recently, I saw a discussion in the community where Agudo players mentioned that even with outstanding match data and a system rating of 15.8—a score that would secure a top-tier badge for other heroes—Agudo only receives a gold medal. Given that the current maximum rating in Honor of Kings is 16, 15.8 is already incredibly high. Honestly, this situation occurs much more frequently with Agudo than with other junglers. So just how difficult is it to get a top-tier evaluation on Agudo?

Why is Agudo’s rating so competitive?

First, let’s clarify some basics: a hero’s top-tier/gold/silver/bronze evaluation isn’t directly tied to the rating itself. It mainly depends on how you compare to other players using the same hero at the same position and rank. The general requirement for a top-tier evaluation is to be in the top 1% of players in terms of rating.

Back to Agudo—Agudo is a hero with solid strength. Although its role has been changed to marksman, it’s still mainly played in the jungle. Its unique ranged advantage makes it very comfortable in jungle invasions and skirmishes. Recent adjustments also split the health bars of Agudo and the bear, significantly improving survivability.

Because of its strength, Agudo has become a favorite for team queues, especially three- and five-player teams. With better coordination and consistent pace, these teams allow Agudo to achieve match data far above average players at the same rank. This is precisely why Agudo’s rating is so hard to earn—when a large number of high-level Agudo players pull the overall average rating very high, even if a normal player scores over 15 points, they may still not rank among the top.

The camp system actually has an interesting statistic: the hero MVP list and the hero gold medal list. According to these lists, Agudo ranks first on the MVP list, meaning this hero frequently earns the team’s MVP—i.e., the highest rating on the team. However, Agudo does not appear on the gold medal list, which further confirms that its rating competition is indeed fierce.

What other thresholds exist?

Besides the hard requirement of rating ranking, each hero and each position has its own evaluation dimensions, though the official details haven’t been disclosed. However, in the post-match settlement screen, you can see some detailed information. Taking the examples with high ratings below, we can see that the focus is on economy-to-damage conversion, kills, tower pushing, etc. This suggests these are key evaluation dimensions for Agudo, so players can work on these aspects.

Additionally, junglers naturally have fixed position-specific evaluation dimensions, such as control over epic monsters, invade/counter-jungle effectiveness, etc. These are important for junglers. If some abilities don’t meet the standard, it will affect the final evaluation, potentially preventing a top-tier judgment.

Xiaodi’s final opinion is that as long as you feel you’ve played well enough in a match, that’s sufficient. There’s no need to dwell too much on the system’s evaluation. Having fun in the game is what truly matters.
