During the third phase of the LPL, TES and FPX competed in a BO3. This was jiejie's second game with FPX, following a disappointing loss to BLG in the first match. FPX fell to TES with a 1-2 score, enduring their 13th defeat.
In the first game, TES ran Rumble top, Jarvan jungle, Ahri mid, and Lucian with Braum bot; FPX fielded Ornn top, Troll jungle, Taliyah mid, and Tristana with Rell bot. During laning, TES's bot lane executed a 4v3, but FPX fully responded, counterattacking perfectly to secure a 2-for-3 trade. Later, at the Rift Herald fight, creme’s Ahri ulted four enemies, coordinated with 369’s Rumble ultimate, enabling TES to turn it into a 1-for-4 exchange. Early on, FPX secured two dragons and the Rift Herald, while TES held a 1K gold lead.
In the mid game, both teams contested the jungle. Jwei’s Rell initiated, but teammates couldn’t follow up. Kanavi’s Jarvan engaged, scattering FPX’s formation. TES capitalized with a 0-for-4 team fight win and took the Elder Dragon. At 27 minutes, TES killed FPX’s jungler and AD carry on the top lane, then secured the first Baron. In the late game at 30 minutes, FPX tried hard to kill 369’s Rumble top, but TES reinforcements arrived, killing four FPX members and clinching the first game victory. The highest damage dealer for TES was 369’s Rumble, and for FPX it was JiaQi’s Tristana.
In the second game, FPX picked Aphelios top, Vi jungle, Galio mid, and Varus with Nautilus bot; TES chose Sion top, Skarner jungle, Ahri mid, and Senna with Alistar bot. At 8 minutes, 369’s Sion ganked top, killing JiaQi’s Varus, giving JKL’s Senna the first blood. Early on, FPX secured two dragons and the Rift Herald, but TES consistently won small skirmishes, maintaining a 1K gold lead.
Mid game, creme’s Ahri destroyed the first bottom tower. At 22 minutes, Jwei’s Nautilus was engaged in the jungle and flashed away, but TES chased too deep. Kanavi’s Skarner ulted two, yet FPX’s top and support flanked, instantly killing JKL’s Senna. FPX achieved a 0-for-3 trade and took the Elder Dragon. At 24 minutes, 369’s Sion was caught and killed, allowing FPX to reach dragon soul. At 28 minutes, Kanavi’s Skarner initiated in the jungle but was controlled and killed by JiaQi’s Varus ultimate. FPX first eliminated TES’s jungle and support, then sheer’s Aphelios dove onto JKL’s Senna. After killing four TES players, FPX secured the first Baron. Later, FPX obtained the Infernal Dragon soul. At 36 minutes, a mid-lane clash saw FPX focus down and kill JKL’s Senna, then claim the Elder Dragon and a second Baron. Finally, at 38 minutes, FPX wiped TES at their base and won the second game. MVP was awarded to JiaQi’s Varus.
In the third game, TES selected Aatrox top, Qiyana jungle, Ryze mid, and Ezreal with Renata bot; FPX chose Renekton top, Xin Zhao jungle, Akali mid, and Ziggs with Poppy bot. At 5 minutes, FPX’s jungle and support ganked top, diving 369’s Aatrox and securing first blood for sheer’s Renekton. Then creme’s Ryze dove to solo kill Care’s Akali. Early on, TES took two dragons and destroyed the first bottom tower, holding a 2K gold lead.
In the mid game river fight, both sides traded 1-for-1, with TES claiming dragon soul threat. At 23 minutes, a dragon contest saw Hang’s Renata nearly killed first, then creme’s Ryze was slain in the pit. FPX responded with a 3-for-5 team wipe, securing the dragon, but TES revived and took the Elder Dragon. At 25 minutes, TES swiftly stole the first Baron. At 29 minutes, FPX initiated a brush fight, but Kanavi’s Qiyana ulted three, enabling TES to achieve a 0-for-4 team wipe and claim the Infernal Dragon soul. Later at 31 minutes, jiejie’s Xin Zhao was instantly killed, TES took the second Baron, then creme’s Ryze flanked and wiped FPX, securing the match win.
