T1 suffered a disastrous defeat, with Ruler securing a pentakill while Faker was reduced to a mere spectator, and the bottom lane completely collapsed.

Greetings to all LPL fans and League of Legends summoners, welcome to Tianxia Game Hub.

Yesterday, the LCK featured another high-level showdown where GEN and T1 faced off for the last time in the regular season. GEN once again overturned the odds with a 2-1 victory over T1, maintaining their undisputed position at the top of the standings.

On T1’s side, there was a devastating collapse, especially in the bottom lane, where the gap was too large and Ruler secured a pentakill.

Faker became just a background figure as T1 suffered a humiliating defeat.

In the first game, Faker delivered a godlike performance. Despite GEN holding the advantage early and T1 being at a consistent disadvantage, Faker made a brilliant play stealing Urgot’s ultimate, which was crucial in turning a 3-for-3 team fight in T1’s favor. Later, T1 seized an opportunity to kill Canyon and secured Baron Nashor.

Then Faker capitalized on Chovy’s misstep to secure another kill, helping T1 clinch the first game victory with his outstanding showing.

Normally, a 1-0 lead would make most teams favorites to win, but their opponent was GEN, known for multiple reverse sweeps and unmatched resilience. GEN once again overshadowed Faker’s stellar performance, dashed T1 fans’ hopes, and created a disastrous situation in games two and three.

In the second game, T1 began to falter. First, Doran on the top lane was left low on health and got killed by Ruler’s flash engage. Then the bottom lane also faltered: Gumayusi tried to use his E skill to counter GEN’s initiation instead of flashing away, resulting in his death and setting the stage for Ruler’s rampage pentakill.

Ruler claimed a pentakill as T1’s bottom lane completely fell apart.

Ruler steadily built a lead with kills. In a bottom lane skirmish, Doran’s Rumble accidentally burned himself with his ultimate, putting T1 in a tough spot. Faker’s Ryze tried to retreat with his ultimate, but Ruler flanked and landed a multi-target R skill, then effortlessly cleaned up T1’s low-health players, securing a team wipe.

At 20 minutes, another team fight broke out where Ruler charged in and devastated the enemy team, scoring a pentakill and ending any suspense in the match. The final stats showed T1’s bottom lane performing terribly: Gumayusi had a 0-7-4 score, and support Keria also struggled with 0-6-5.

In the deciding game, T1’s bottom lane remained sluggish. They picked Yuumi, but a crucial fight went wrong. Although they had a chance to kill Ruler, Keria missed an auto attack, and Gumayusi didn’t flash to secure the kill, allowing Ruler’s Jhin to counter with a deadly ultimate that forced a flash out.

In a key dragon fight afterward, T1 collapsed. Several players made mistakes: Keria was caught by Annie’s ultimate and died first, jungler Oner missed his ultimate completely, and Gumayusi’s Yuumi was caught out of position and eliminated by crowd control combos.

Kiin on Quasanti started to shine, initiating fights and leading the bottom lane to pick off opponents and extend their lead. Despite the huge disadvantage, T1 made a comical error by sending Yuumi to chase Annie, who instantly turned around and burst her down.

T1 dropped to second place, and concerns about their bottom lane grow.

Ultimately, GEN completed a reverse sweep to win the series. In game three, T1’s bottom lane combined for a dreadful 0-8 score, and across games two and three, they died 21 times without any kills. The gap in the bottom lane was shockingly large, something no one expected before the match started.

In my opinion, the current situation looks unfavorable for T1. With playoffs approaching, their sudden inconsistency and poor bottom lane performance against GEN means other playoff teams will likely adopt GEN’s strategies.

After this loss, T1 also lost their second place spot, with HLE benefiting. The LCK regular season ranking is critical since second and third place differ by a round in playoffs, affecting the path and conditions for qualifying for Worlds.

Honestly, this T1 performance fits their pattern over recent years: struggling through qualifiers but hitting hard at Worlds. Judging by this year’s LCK landscape, T1’s qualification for Worlds should be relatively smooth. The key will be their playoff form and whether they can effectively review and adjust to aim for a higher seed.
