LCK first team lineup announced, GEN players all hailed as legends, Faker only ranks third, Chovy dominates in every aspect

Greetings to all LPL fans and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game Hub.

Both LPL and LCK are preparing for the third stage of the playoffs. Earlier, LCK shared information about their best lineup, originally planning to announce it at the year-end awards ceremony.

Later, LCK reversed their decision and released the best lineup earlier than planned.

LCK best lineup revealed, GEN players all achieve legendary status

Here's what happened: a reporter previously disclosed that LCK's best lineup, regular season MVP, best rookie, and coach of the year awards would be announced at the year-end LCK AWARDS ceremony. Shortly after, the reporter revealed that LCK decided to reveal the annual best lineup results earlier than originally planned.

According to an official from Riot Games, the initial plan to announce the best lineup at the LCK Awards was meant to build anticipation for the ceremony. This move was not intended to cause unnecessary misunderstandings nor was it the direction Riot Games wanted to take.

From the audience’s perspective, if the best lineup is announced after the World Championship, and key players fail to win the championship or perform poorly, it could spark major controversy. For example, if many GEN players were selected for the first team but T1 ends up winning Worlds, fans would likely dispute the league’s best lineup results.

Earlier today, LCK released the best lineup list, and as expected, GEN emerged as the biggest winner, with all members making the first team, completing their legendary journey. After roster changes this year, they once again asserted their dominance, showing that GEN’s league control is truly unparalleled.

Chovy utterly dominates, Faker ranks only third

The first team consists entirely of GEN players, which is undisputed. This includes support Duro, who performed excellently and consistently in the second and third stages. Compared to other supports, he stood out. Canyon, previously criticized by fans as a team weakness, was indeed the best performing jungler in LCK.

Having an entire team selected for the first team requires the squad to demonstrate top-tier dominance, not only by vastly outperforming other teams but also through exceptional individual player performances.

In other seasons, some teams might have matched GEN’s record, but it would be difficult for every player to lead their respective roles.

Chovy was unsurprisingly named the regular season MVP, with his MVP vote score overwhelmingly surpassing others. His POM score reached 1400 points, while the second place only had 800 points (Zeus, Keria, and ShowMaker).

For the second team, T1 had three players selected: top laner Doran, jungler Oner, and support Keria. Doran successfully edged out Zeus for a spot. Mid lane was awarded to BDD, and the bottom lane went to HLE’s Viper. Faker was ultimately placed in the third team.

Who will claim the S15 championship?

Personally, I believe GEN is the team in League of Legends history that most needs the Worlds championship to prove themselves. Chovy is also the pro player most in need of a championship. They have experienced many league titles but have underperformed or been upset at Worlds. Each failure has led to a comeback, and they seem to grow stronger year after year.

What’s remarkable about this team is that their league dominance improves each year; they evolve continuously. Their overall strength is maxed out. The only possible gaps might be the Worlds meta and players’ mental state. Whether they can overcome these psychological barriers will be the biggest suspense of S15.

The hallmark of Worlds is pushing every team to unlock their maximum potential and break through their limits to become truly unbeatable. GEN’s biggest rival this year still appears to be T1, as T1 always manages to reach their peak performance on the Worlds stage.

Though T1 may face various issues during the league, once Worlds arrive, they reveal their invincible side. In contrast, no LPL team this year seems able to match GEN’s level. Reluctantly, we must admit that LPL looks quite hopeless this year.
