The disgrace of the LPL region! WBG delivered an ugly performance, Sun Yalong angrily scolded, Light shamelessly disappointed.

Hello to all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game News.

The first LOL Asia Invitational ended today with the losers' bracket elimination matches, resulting in LPL's WBG team being defeated 2-0 by LCK's BFX team, finishing in fourth place.

The course of this match sparked widespread outrage, and after returning to commentary, Sun Yalong openly berated WBG on stream.

The shame of the LPL region, Sun Yalong harshly criticized.

WBG was highly expected at this ASI event, having swept DK in the group stage to top their group. It was assumed that WBG, placed in a tough group, would easily defeat NS to advance, but they lost 1-2 to NS and dropped into the losers' bracket. Today's match against BFX was their last chance.

However, today's match was even more disappointing; WBG seemed to gain some advantage in the early and mid game, only to give it all away in a single big mid-game mistake.

In the first game, top laner Huxi made a glaring mistake, being chased down mid lane and dying after failing to flash away, losing a key point. Light then gave away a kill from the flank, causing the situation to spiral out of control. Later, he disconnected from the team near the river and died again, seemingly clueless about his actions.

Returning commentator Sun Yalong furiously criticized on stream, stating that WBG lacks the capability to reach Worlds and win the championship. How can they look down on a regional cup like the Asia Invitational? This is the highest level of competition WBG can achieve, yet their attitude in this match was truly disgraceful.

Trailing by 8300 gold in lane, Light showed no shame.

In the second game, WBG again started aggressively with a 3-0 lead, gaining an early advantage. Commentators noted this advantage seemed even greater than the previous game, with the jungler playing Rengar, who was difficult for the opponent to handle once fed. However, WBG made a huge mistake at the dragon fight.

At the dragon pit, Tian accidentally wasted his W skill and fell out of sync with the team. Xiaohu's LeBlanc wandered inside the pit and was locked down and killed by the enemy. Losing the dragon and then three kills allowed the opponents to completely equalize the situation.

Xiaohu tried his best in the rest of the match, seizing many opportunities, but his four teammates seemed unwilling to win. Especially Light's performance was extremely poor; during the stream, Chu Jun called his play disgustingly bad to the point of physical discomfort.

As a result, Light set a new shameful record, falling behind Diable by 8300 gold in lane. Ultimately, WBG was eliminated in the top four, allowing the LCK region to sweep the top three spots at the Asia Invitational. Such an outcome is clearly unacceptable to LPL fans.

Professional attitude is terrible, raising concerns for Worlds.

In my opinion, among the three teams attending the Asia Invitational, ignoring NIP’s skill gap, both JDG and WBG players showed serious attitude problems. They played too casually, as if they did not take the tournament seriously at all, including many well-known LPL veterans.

It seemed like they were already out of Worlds contention and were just called back unwillingly to play this event. Losing matches without limits, as General Fan said, they were shameless. JDG lost to Vietnam, and WBG threw games they should have won. Honestly, the LPL region is really in bad shape right now.

This reflects a bigger issue; hosting Worlds in China this year is worrying. Although the teams will try their best, there’s a chance that repeated losses to Korean teams might cause players’ mental states to falter, becoming a weak point for the teams and leading to poor results.

All I can say is the chances of the LPL performing well at Worlds this year are quite low. I hope everyone remains cautious in their expectations, as the LCK region’s strength may be even greater than anticipated.
