"Faker's Rare Live Outburst" Goes Viral, Publicly Accuses LPL Player of Throwing Games and AFKing in Korean Server

Introduction: The S15 season has fully ended, and it’s believed that the vast majority of players have been paying attention to the recent offseason. The upcoming LPL season is about to begin, with pros engaged in rigorous practice. It was assumed there wouldn’t be many conflicts between the LPL and LCK regions, but an incident during Faker’s live stream ranked game sparked widespread discussion online. The TT team’s support player from LPL was openly AFKing in ranked, which triggered Faker’s rare outburst on stream. He repeatedly reported the player, insisting that such behavior should result in suspension or ban, and that the player shouldn’t be allowed to continue playing ranked games.

Faker’s Rare Live Outburst: Reporting LPL Player for AFKing

Most players are quite familiar with Faker, widely recognized as the number one League of Legends player. His popularity and influence are immense. He won the World Championship right after debuting and, over a career spanning more than a decade, has become a six-time world champion—no other pro player has surpassed him. During this offseason, he even received South Korea’s highest sports honor. Faker has become an unparalleled figure in esports history. With the new season approaching, Faker is currently in the offseason, returning to regular Korean server practice.

What happened was that during several normal Korean ranked games, Faker’s patience broke. On stream, he expressed frustration, saying he clearly saw the player behind him but received no protection. He suggested some players should be suspended every two games as the only way to deal with AFKers, who deserve punishment. Allowing such players to continue playing disrespects the game itself. He mentioned that Luo was AFKing again in the top lane. After the game, Faker went on a reporting spree, marking the player for toxic behavior, quitting mid-game, AFKing, unsportsmanlike conduct, spamming, and signal abuse. It’s clear Faker was very upset.

Reviewing the match stats, it’s obvious the early game fell apart badly—bot lane was destroyed, and mid lane didn’t perform well either, leading to surrender at 15 minutes. The funniest part was the next ranked game where Faker joined and found TT’s support player Feather on the opposing team. Faker’s team managed to crush the opposition and secure the win. This is a very rare moment of Faker losing his temper, especially on stream. Even regular players would feel furious when teammates AFK in ranked. Losing or surrendering is acceptable, but AFKing and feeding is intolerable.

This incident is still unfolding. So far, neither TT team nor LPL officials have taken action against the player. However, based on Faker’s statements, it’s likely the player will face suspension during the first split. Throwing games and AFKing in ranked is a serious offense for pros. Previously, Xiaoleyan was fined and suspended just for exploiting a bug in ranked. This time, the player directly threw games against Faker, so the punishment might be harsher. We’ll have to wait for the official decision, which will probably side with Faker.

Farewell Thoughts

It seems almost certain that TT’s support player Feather will be suspended, probably for one or two games, and their Korean server account will be dealt with. This shows the influence of the number one League of Legends player—Faker is simply at the top. Moreover, Faker is known to be reasonable; if it were just poor play, he wouldn’t be this angry or file so many reports. Clearly, he was genuinely upset.
