Following the cancellation of the 2027 Esports Olympics, Saudi Arabia officially announced the first Esports National Cup to take place in November. Just like in the Asian Games, each major LoL region will select elite players from multiple clubs to compete as teams. The allocation of slots remains half by direct invite and half through qualifiers. Being the second strongest region after LCK, the LPL is likely to secure direct invites.

This event’s scale and cycle are unprecedented among LoL competitions. It’s still uncertain whether Riot will approve it, but since the EWC has been held, financial power should be enough to convince Riot. If it happens, there will be another top-tier tournament after the World Championship. Even though it's a national-level event, the final battle for the championship will likely be between the LPL and LCK regions due to their superior strength.

In his recent streams, Old Li has reported many players for negative gameplay, including some professional players. The TT team’s support was sanctioned by Old Li and later both the club and the player apologized. Yesterday, Old Li encountered another player with an anti-China ID during his stream and immediately reported him for using an offensive name. This move earned Old Li even more respect from LPL fans.

The player’s ID is jjankae, which in Korean is clearly discriminatory against us. The ID also includes “FK CN,” which everyone understands the meaning of. Old Li’s report was truly satisfying. It shows that greatness knows no borders. No wonder he is called the number one player in League of Legends. Whether in-game or outside, Old Li is a role model for pro players.

After JDG’s roster reshuffle during the transfer period, they formed an all-Chinese lineup. At the Demacia Cup, JDG fielded their full-strength squad. Early on, they struggled due to poor synergy, but as teamwork improved, JDG easily reached the Demacia Cup finals. However, they were swept 3-0 by IG. Although it was a non-critical event, JDG released a documentary revealing the team’s current situation.

After losing to IG, Tabe vented in the locker room at five players: “Go outside and ask your friends, ask the observers, the bosses, the audience—how do they view our game? Being runner-up at the Demacia Cup isn’t shameful, but the way we played was somewhat embarrassing. Honestly, we just formed the team and need more practice. What I can’t accept is IG’s half-hearted lineup.”

Following MLXG and Imp, another “stock trading genius” appeared in the LoL scene. Oner admitted on stream that one of his stocks dropped 80%, which shocked him, but another fell 83%, nearly delisted. He said he can’t even bring himself to look at them now. Oner ended with: “Life is like this, everyone. Two stocks dropping over 80% is really tough to handle.”

Stocks are indeed risky, so caution is necessary; otherwise, you might end up like “Teacher Guo.” Oner probably bought blindly without understanding much. However, as long as he didn’t invest everything, the damage won’t be severe. As a triple champion playing for T1, if he avoids reckless investments, his income from champion skin shares alone should secure him financial freedom for life.

Watching JDG at the Demacia Cup felt a bit odd. The team’s biggest star, Gazi, seems not fully adapted yet, struggling in laning and team fights. HongQ played well in the mid-stage but underperformed in the finals. The jungler was similar—less inspired than during Worlds. It’s unclear if their synergy has improved recently.
So, do you think JDG qualifies as a top-tier team?
