Hello to all LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, this is Tianxia Game Report.
The LCK previously revealed the new season’s system and schedule, and as tradition, the LCK region holds a preseason contest before the season begins, which caused quite a stir last year.

This year remains the same, with Faker’s preseason team demonstrating outstanding power by securing three victories.
The dream team goes berserk, Oner mercilessly outplayed
The LCK preseason rules divide players by position, forming teams from top to support, totaling five squads competing. This event is highly entertaining and full of highlights, with the main suspense being which of the five League of Legends positions has the highest talent.

Last year’s preseason proved that the mid lane is indeed the game's centerpiece, and this year is no exception.
Faker assembled a dream team, called so because Faker and Chovy teamed up to play together, with the other three mid laners being Ucal, Scout, and ShowMaker.
Yesterday’s first match was against the jungle team, considered the biggest mismatch before the game since junglers usually roam the jungle and their laning skills are inferior to laners. As expected, the mid lane team completely outplayed the jungle team, securing first blood early and then killing three invading junglers in their own territory.

Oner, playing the bot lane, had a terrible game experience, being heavily targeted. Support Kanavi eventually stopped staying in lane and roamed instead, while Oner kept dying repeatedly, even getting outplayed by the mid lane team inside the dragon pit.
Mid lane team achieves three straight wins, Chovy shows frightening talent
Surrounded at the dragon pit, Oner was left to be attacked by the dragon while the mid lane team watched without intervening, a moment that amused all ten players. Chovy, playing ADC this game, skillfully dodged multiple abilities under a triple enemy trap and counterattacked with teammates to secure an easy victory.

The most terrifying part was the final score of this match: the mid lane team racked up 42 kills, while the jungle team managed only 8.
Next, the mid lane team faced the top lane team in a more intense match. Faker’s top lane was once solo killed, and Chovy’s Ezreal was also defeated in lane, but Scout’s jungle Pantheon went absolutely wild, leading the team with continuous kill momentum. In team fights, the mid lane team showed overwhelming superiority, easily defeating their opponents and securing the win.

The last match against the bot lane team was the most anticipated. Chovy’s Kai’Sa displayed incredible skill. Early on, the bot lane gained an advantage, but the mid lane team’s risky plays dug a hole for themselves. However, at the crucial moment, the mid lane team pushed slightly and effortlessly turned the game around, switching to a four-protect-one strategy, with Chovy scoring 15 kills throughout the match.
Mid lane team dominates, the true heroes of League of Legends
In this match, Faker’s Sion played a key role, securing Baron at 20 minutes by catching Diable. Chovy, using the Uzi skin, dazzled throughout. Both sides fought fiercely from start to finish, ending with a 27-27 kill score, but the mid lane team emerged victorious. Fans praised the thrilling contest of offense, defense, and tactical details.

Ultimately, the mid lane team achieved a clean sweep of three wins, with viewers widely agreeing that mid lane remains the position with the highest talent in League of Legends.
It’s worth noting that the mid lane team had weaker Ucal playing his usual mid role, Faker on top lane, Chovy in bot lane, and ShowMaker as support, yet they still comfortably defeated other position teams. Faker’s incredible roaming, Chovy’s outstanding mechanics—this top-tier mid lane dream team can only be seen in the preseason.

Chovy’s performance was especially astonishing, with many viewers believing he has world-class skill even outside the mid lane.
Personally, I think mid laners are so strong mainly because of their map position. The mid lane requires commanding the whole map, engaging in skill duels, combining the close-range fights of top lane with the positional finesse of bot lane. They must excel in lane and also provide side lane support, enabling them to perform impressively in other roles as well.

Also, Wolf’s wise saying: most players, when first playing League of Legends, go through a filtering process. Mid lane is the hardest position; if you can’t play mid, you try other roles. Wolf ended up as a support because he wasn’t good enough in other positions.
