LOL champion mid laner switches to DOTA! Korean media reveals LCK changes home venue: regular season to be held in Vietnam

The first split of the League of Legends S16 season is about to begin. Recently, the official LOL esports body initiated a poll named "Past VS Present." The options included former SKT top laner Marin and current T1 top laner Doran. Putting these two in the same category is somewhat odd. Even though many new viewers haven't seen Marin’s games, Doran’s total votes remain behind Marin’s.

There’s no denying Doran is strong and lucky, but compared to Marin at his peak, he falls short. To put it bluntly, they’re not even on the same level. Doran has no right to claim any equivalence. At his prime, Marin combined Kiin’s steadiness with Zeus’s dominance. Just take that one play where Dyrus borrowed 22 seconds from the heavens to send T1 to Worlds — that’s something Lanzi could never achieve in his lifetime.

LCK changes home venue for new season

The LCK first split will start simultaneously with the LPL, with the opening match on the 14th. This year, it seems LCK is switching its home venue. Renowned Korean journalist Kenzi recently revealed that DRX will host LCK regular season matches in Vietnam. Vietnamese media have also reported that the LCK regular season will take place in Vietnam, meaning that after May, many LCK teams will head to Vietnam to compete.

The first split LCK Cup doesn’t count towards official records, so it will still be held in Korea. The second split, which is the actual regular season, will move to Vietnam. First, the prize pool was canceled, and now they have to travel to Vietnam for matches. It looks like LCK is really short on funds, to the point where they have to go abroad to make money by playing matches. This is basically a commercial show; LCK performs in Vietnam with the venue financially supporting them.

Doinb officially switches to DOTA

LPL world champion mid laner Doinb, after retiring, chose to quit League of Legends and switch to DOTA. His streams, which had little attention before, have recently picked up significantly. Even the IG team owner invited Doinb to join their DOTA squad, but he declined, worried about taking someone else’s spot. Unexpectedly, switching games has brought Doinb a fresh new peak in his career.

It must be said, he’s really bold to try this. LOL and DOTA players have teased each other for years, and Doinb’s transition has brought him a huge influx of viewers. Many DOTA fans are happy to see a LOL champion mid laner join their scene. LOL fans, tired of Summoner’s Rift, find the change refreshing. Now, the question is whether Doinb will one day say: “I am a DOTA streamer.”

Bin’s weight loss boosts his looks

BLG recently shared behind-the-scenes footage of their team’s photoshoot. When Viper learned AL was also present, he went over to interact with the “Saint Gunner.” As the team’s handsome representative, Viper’s photos look great, but what surprised fans most was top laner Bin. After appearing on camera, his previously chubby face visibly slimmed down, and with his new hairstyle, he suddenly looks quite handsome, seemingly starting to focus on his appearance.

With double eyelid surgery and weight loss, Bin is clearly managing his image now. Could it be that he has someone he likes? Or was he hurt somehow? If I remember correctly, during the previous ShangK incident, leaked chat logs included a line: “That fat guy, working with him is really tough.” But that was long ago and never confirmed, so it’s just a bit of fun teasing.

Conclusion:

LCK heading to Vietnam for matches actually sounds promising. Even though major regions are struggling financially, Vietnamese fans remain very passionate about LOL, especially when Faker is involved, the audience turnout is guaranteed. However, the specific venue and schedule are still undecided, and it will probably take a few months before more details emerge.
