It is believed that most players are quite familiar with G2. As a formidable opponent of the LCK region, they are the dominant force in the European region. They became widely known likely during the S8 World Finals. That year, they eliminated RNG, the favored championship contender from the LPL region. In the subsequent S9 season, they even matched RNG's achievements, securing all championships except the World Finals. Since then, G2 replaced FNC as the European region's top team. First, they crushed LCK's second seed BFX with a 3-0 sweep, then dominated the first seed GEN, fully displaying the momentum of Europe's veteran powerhouse. Although ultimately defeated by BLG, they still earned the title of world runner-up and LPL third seed. It was expected that after returning to their region, G2's condition would become even more stable, but unexpectedly their performance has been remarkably poor. After the LEC Spring Split (second stage) began, G2's gameplay showed serious issues, seeming almost like random play, with both lineup drafting and teamfight coordination being very loose.

Frankly, it's a bit hard to understand G2's lineup drafting now. Combinations like Sion plus Zoe, with Lucian as the ADC in the bottom lane, completely lack any late-game damage capability. It seems G2 might have realized that the European region's matches have no real intensity, so there's no need to treat them as serious competitions.
