VCT: Ball God's fiery determination turned the tide, EDG came from behind to defeat FUT 2-1

In the first round of the Valorant Masters Tokyo knockout stage, EDG once again staged a classic storyline: "slow start on map one, intense battle on map two, victory on map three." EDG overcame an initial loss to win two in a row against FUT, advancing to the winners' semifinals!

Map 1: Ascent

Defense EDG: Sova, Cypher, Harbor, Raze, Omen

Attack FUT: Sova, Jett, Cypher, Omen, Harbor

In the first half pistol round, EDG lost their gunfights. In round 2, EDG tried to stack and plant, but FUT hunted for ultimate points. Outsmarting themselves, FUT lost a 2900 credit weapon, and Ball God grabbed and saved it.

In round 3, EDG won the bonus round with a 1-for-5 trade. After that, they couldn't keep scoring. FUT executed a coordinated attack on A and won.

FUT's dual duelists put immense pressure on EDG, leading to consecutive defeats, forcing EDG to save and eco repeatedly.

After EDG's second timeout in round 10, they had KangKang solo hold C with an Operator, taking down yetujey. Nobody commanded the A site defense, eliminating FUT at the bombsite to secure their second round.

In round 11, Smoggy on Raze used her ultimate to push forward, killing xeus on Harbor. Then s0pp solo crept through A short, taking down two, but FUT won the round anyway.

The first half was a complete collapse for EDG, with FUT building an eight-round lead.

In the second half pistol round, Nobody took down three opponents in a row, then transformed into "Wang Qiling" leading the team to rush A and win.

FUT's coordination was excellent. s0pp repeatedly used teammate utility to push forward and eliminate EDG. Ultimately, EDG couldn't overcome FUT and lost map one.

Map 2: Fracture

Defense FUT: Chamber, Jett, Fade, Omen, KAY/O

Attack EDG: Astra, Jett, Viper, Fade, Phoenix

FUT won the pistol round to start. In round 3, EDG attacked B, Smoggy traded two kills at B, and EDG won the bonus round.

In round 7, on a half-buy, EDG rushed A directly. Jieni7 got a double kill, and "Jiahao" s0pp also missed his shots. Autumn's timeout had some effect!

In round 8, EDG made a critical mistake holding the bombsite advantage at A, allowing FUT to retake and win with fewer players.

Jieni7 repeatedly turned the tide. In round 11, EDG forced B and planted, but yetujey clutched the 2v1 situation.

In the first half, EDG had serious discipline issues, losing many advantageous rounds. They ended the half trailing by four rounds.

Entering the second half, KangKang connected three kills at B to lead the team to win the pistol round.

In round 15, FUT's bonus round, Jieni7 was under immense pressure solo at B and was caught by FUT at the back line. EDG's retake failed, but they traded three rifles.

In round 16, Nobody took down two at A long. FUT sent three through mid to B. This time, Jieni7 held off FUT's attack.

EDG pulled back four rounds, but in round 18 they were pinched by FUT, breaking their streak.

In round 19, EDG stacked and pushed B long, eliminating two. With a 5v3 retake at A, they easily won.

In round 20, FUT's save round, they imitated EDG by hard rushing A short, but EDG held easily.

In round 21, Jieni7 connected three kills at B short. Ball God and Nobody faced a 2v1, and this time yetujey couldn't clutch.

In round 22, s0pp carried the only rifle, killed KangKang's Operator at B short. Then FUT stacked and pinched B. Ball God on Odin spray-transferred for a triple kill, earning EDG match point.

FUT didn't let EDG close it out. xeus at A backline held off EDG's retake, sending the match into overtime.

In overtime, Smoggy and Ball God stepped up, and EDG took two straight rounds to win map two.

Map 3: Haven

Defense EDG: Fade, Brimstone, Neon, Phoenix, Cypher

Attack FUT: Fade, Jett, Cypher, Brimstone, Raze

In the pistol round, EDG achieved a perfect team wipe. Then KangKang used his ultimate to get a triple kill.

FUT couldn't win their bonus round. Nobody successfully read their play, and Jieni7 at the bombsite with a Stinger got a quad kill to hold.

In round 5, FUT brought out rifles again and fast-attacked B. xeus on Raze used her ultimate but was air-balled, and EDG held B to win.

EDG went on a five-round win streak. s0pp got a triple kill at A in round 6, giving FUT their first round.

In round 8, KangKang pushed out from B long, killing three FUT players. The remaining yetujey picked up a rifle but was also "confiscated"! First half: EDG 9-3 FUT.

In the second half, EDG won the bonus round. Then Ball God turned the tide in a clutch by saving the plant and winning. Jieni7 also answered back by rotating and catching yetujey.

EDG went on a winning streak in the second half to close out the match. EDG came from behind to defeat FUT 2-1.
