VCT: WsLeo secures a pistol round ace, XLG reverse sweeps G2 to win 2-1

In the opening match of the Valorant London Masters elimination bracket, XLG reversed the sweep against G2, moving into the upper bracket semifinals.

Map 1: Lotus

Defense G2: Raze, Viper, Omen, Fade, Deadlock

Attack XLG: Killjoy, Omen, Fade, Cypher, Sage

XLG secured the first three rounds. In round 4, G2 held XLG's assault on B, but XLG managed to win the eco round anyway.

Round 6: G2 stubbornly kept pushing mid, and happywei took down three in a row.

XLG failed to take A during their attack, and when they went for C, babybay got a triple kill in retake, costing XLG two straight rounds and forcing a timeout.

G2 figured out XLG's triple-sentinel attack strategy, went on a six-round streak, flipped the score, and gained a two-point lead.

In the second half, XLG won the pistol round but immediately got reset by G2.

Round 18: G2 faked a push on A long to bait out XLG's utility, then rotated to C, planted, and won the round.

Round 19: XLG bought rifles again, but Rarga's Operator pick on A got taken out, allowing G2 to walk into A and plant for the win.

On match point, G2 hit A, leaf used Viper's ultimate to cover the site, and XLG had no chance in retake. G2 took map one.

Map 2: Bind

Defense XLG: Sova, Phoenix, Jett, Omen, Killjoy

Attack G2: Deadlock, Neon, Phoenix, Omen, Sova

XLG won the pistol round in the first half and started with three consecutive victories.

Round 8: NoMan pushed mid with an Operator and took down leaf, then G2 rotated to B only to be caught by Lysoar. XLG easily won the retake with a numbers advantage.

Round 10: Rarga got four kills in a row on A site, and WsLeo won the 1v1 clutch against trent. XLG took a four-point lead into halftime.

In the second half, WsLeo eliminated G2's defense on B site and recorded an ACE.

Round 15: happywei got a quad kill to deny G2's bonus round. XLG then went on a five-round winning streak to secure map two!

Map 3: Split

Defense XLG: Skye, Harbor, Raze, Omen, Viper

Attack G2: Deadlock, Raze, Viper, Astra, Fade

XLG claimed the pistol round in the first half. Round 5: babybay held the site and won a post-plant clutch despite Rarga taking down two.

Round 9: G2 rushed A and took control of the second floor, leaving XLG unable to defend the site.

Round 11: XLG coordinated their crossfires and trades to hold G2's push on B site.

Round 12: XLG put up a tough defense on A, eliminating all three enemies entering the site. Lysoar then retook the A second floor and cleaned up the remaining two. XLG ended the first half with 7 rounds, G2 with 5.

In the second half, XLG won the pistol round again. Round 14: Lysoar got a triple kill.

Round 16: Both teams clashed on A site. babybay withstood XLG's attack to win the round.

Round 17: XLG's eco round. NoMan on Raze double-jumped into the site, using a Frenzy to shred through G2's defense, securing an upset win.

Round 19: G2 used three ultimates to retake A site successfully. G2 then clawed back two rounds to narrow the gap.

Round 21: XLG's half-buy round. NoMan landed on B site and eliminated two. trent retook and managed to neutralize XLG's numerical advantage, but WsLeo ultimately won the 1v1 duel.

On match point, XLG won the B site fight against G2, completing the reverse sweep 2-1 and advancing to the upper bracket semifinals.
