The 2026 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational will officially begin in 10 days. Foreign media recently released the MSI all-time MSI kill rankings. Unsurprisingly, Faker leads with 531 kills from 148 games. In second place is Gumayusi of T1, who has scored 393 kills in just 89 matches. After this year's event and possibly one or two more, Gumayusi could overtake Faker.

Additionally, foreign media also shared player age data for this MSI. Faker, at 30 years old, ranks only second among older players, ranks only second. The oldest is TL's support CoreJJ, who, at 32, still leads his team to the Mid-Season Invitational after years in North America—truly impressive. All other players are under 30. Dhokla, the "Indian God King of India," ranks third at 29. After his mistake last year, Bin seems to have sparked a revival for Bin.

After Riot announced the knockout stage seed pool, many viewers criticized it. The reason is simple: BLG and G2, who performed best in the recent tournament, ended up facing Chinese and Korean teams in the first round of the knockout stage. Many foreign audiences and casters and fans feel the format is flawed. Despite the complaints, Riot is unlikely to change the format; at most, they might offer some benefits to the top-seed teams.

For instance, giving the top-seed teams double priority in side selection (though this is, of course, highly unlikely. Riot recently announced a new rule: the team advancing from the winners bracket to the finals will have double choice rights in the first game of the finals. This includes both draft and map selection. Normally, side selection typically only allows choosing either the draft or the map, but with this change, they can pick both simultaneously. Now the winners bracket truly has an edge.

With MSI just around the corner, Riot has finalized the tournament version. Recently announced the 26.13 patch as the competition version, with detailed changes revealed. Ten champions are buffed: top lane Olaf and Yorick; jungle Poppy, Kindred, and Qiyana; mid lane LeBlanc and Vex; bot lane Aphelios, Draven, and Kai'Sa. Meanwhile, eight champions are nerfs are applied to eight champions.

Top lane K'Sante, Sion, Rek'Sai, and Rumble are all nerfed; mid lane Cassiopeia and Brand; bot lane Bard and Senna are also toned down. Specific number adjustments haven't been released yet, but tanks are likely sidelined. Personally, this patch seems beneficial for BLG, as Bin excels with bruisers, Xun with Kindred, and Knight with traditional mages. It might also suit HLE well.

Foreign media recently reported that Riot has been sued by Brazilian child and youth associations over the game's loot box system. The plaintiffs are seeking 15 million Brazilian reais approximately 19.92 million yuan in compensation for emotional damages. according to reports, Riot has lost the case. The court has ordered Riot to overhaul the loot box system within 90 days, requiring clear warnings about randomized rewards and disclosure of drop rates.

Additionally, the plaintiffs have demanded that Riot provide a free refund channel for minors to get refunds. I haven't played on overseas servers, so I don't know if Riot's skin drawing system standard probability. While the Chinese server is quite money-focused, it does display probabilities clear. Of course, when you'll actually happen is another matter. Looking at this, Riot still seems inexperienced, but compared to Chinese server, overseas servers might be considered more fair.

With tank champions getting heavy nerfs, top laners who excel with bruisers like Zeus and Bin should find this tournament suitable for them. The knockout stage doesn't start until July, giving ample time to study the meta. I hope both teams from our region can quickly adapt to the patch and find their own playstyle.
So, who do you think got boosted by the MSI version?
