Vietnam’s number one billiards pool star – Duong Quoc Hoang – will take part in the Poison 8-Ball Championship Powered By Box Billiards, a top-level 8-ball competition held next December with a notable total prize of 888,888,888 VND.
This is regarded as the 8-ball tournament with the largest prize pool in the history of Vietnamese billiards, also marking a powerful return of the 8-ball category after the tremendous success of the Keight Ball Championship earlier this year. The event is exclusively for Vietnamese players, gathering 128 of the country’s best cueists, and will take place from December 8 to 12 at Rach Mieu Sports Hall (Ho Chi Minh City).
Not only attractive due to the distinctive "quintuple eight" prize amount, the Poison 8-Ball Championship is also an important stepping stone for top players. The champion will earn the right to represent Vietnam at the 2026 World 8-Ball Championship, as well as a place in the Predator Vietnam Challenge of Champions – a prestigious championship event featuring two elite players: Luong Duc Thien (national 9-ball champion) and Duong Quoc Hoang (national 10-ball champion).
Hoang Sao will participate in the Poison 8-ball Championship, which has a total prize money of 888,888,888 VND
With steady form and a leading reputation in the Vietnamese pool community, Duong Quoc Hoang is expected to be the focal point of the tournament, while also adding appeal to the event organized by Box Billiards to "keep the passion alive" for 8-ball within the country.
The tournament is set to deliver an exciting year-end atmosphere for Vietnamese billiards fans, where the best players will compete not only for the record-breaking prize money but also for the pride of representing their nation on the world stage.
