Duong Quoc Hoang (Hoang Sao) exited the 2026 Asian 10-Ball Championship with deep disappointment following a tight 8-9 defeat against Philippines' top player Carlo Biado during the 1/8 round.
Facing an experienced opponent who is also the reigning 2025 WPC champion, Duong Quoc Hoang started confidently and quickly built a lead at 7-4. However, Carlo Biado's composure surfaced at the crucial moment. The Filipino player persistently chased, leveled the score at 7-7, and pushed the match into a breath-taking scenario.
Both players made consecutive errors, each "gifting" the opponent a rack, eventually entering the decisive hill-hill round. Hoang Sao held the break advantage, but a dry break during the critical rack put the Vietnamese representative at a disadvantage. Although Carlo Biado missed an opportunity by failing a relatively simple shot on the 7-ball, Hoang Sao couldn't capitalize to turn the situation around.

This result caused Hoang Sao to miss the quarterfinals, simultaneously concluding the journey of the final Vietnamese player in the 10-ball event at this year's Asian championship. Previously, Nam Pham also stopped at the Last 16 after losing 1-9 to Naouki Oi.
