Yang Guohuang advances to the round of 32 at the Carabao International Open with a decisive victory over former world number one.

Following a day off, Yang Guohuang delivered a remarkable performance upon his return to the Carabao International Open, defeating former world champion Thorsten Hohmann by a significant margin.

Yang Guohuang easily defeats former world number one.

Thorsten Hohmann, born in 1979, is a seasoned veteran in the world of billiards. The German player, nicknamed "Hitman," has won the world 9-ball championship twice (2003, 2013). Despite his age, Hohmann is still considered highly competitive. However, the Vietnamese star clearly demonstrated superior form and composure during the match.

From the very first racks, Yang Guohuang completely dominated Hohmann. In just about 30 minutes, he surged ahead to a 5-1 lead, leaving the former world number one with little opportunity to develop his game. However, this early advantage also led to a slight dip in focus for the Vietnamese player, allowing Hohmann to win three consecutive racks and narrow the gap to 4-5.

Yang Guohuang convincingly defeats Thorsten Hohmann 10-4.

The turning point of the match came in the 10th rack when Thorsten Hohmann failed to successfully handle a tricky 3-ball situation. This mistake was immediately punished by Yang Guohuang. The Vietnamese player quickly "tightened his grip," playing more solidly and effectively to score four consecutive points. During this winning streak, he executed two classy jump shots, showcasing his top-level form.

The climax was the decisive rack, where Yang Guohuang executed a perfect golden break, sealing the match with a convincing 10-4 victory over the former world number one. This result officially secures his place in the round of 32 of the Carabao International Open and further solidifies the growing stature of Vietnamese billiards on the international stage.

In another notable development, "Black Tiger" Carlo Biado unexpectedly exited the tournament after losing 8-10 to Nonel Nalauman. At 3:00 PM today, the two remaining Vietnamese players will also compete in the round of 64. Luong Duc Thien (Thien Luong) will face Oliver Cocoy Villafuerte, while Pham Phuong Nam (Nam Pham) will play against Sun Yi Hsuan.
