Tottenham Hotspur is planning to offer 60 million Euros to secure Takefusa Kubo, the striker known as the "Asian Messi".
Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in signing Real Sociedad forward Takefusa Kubo during this summer transfer window, according to Spain’s Diario AS. The London club aims to bring in another attacker alongside Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze before the transfer period ends.
Tottenham has identified Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco as an alternative to Manchester City’s Savinho, since the Etihad club demands up to 60 million pounds. However, Kubo, a long-term target for Spurs, is now back on their radar. The player’s release clause is valued at 60 million Euros.
Diario AS reports that "money is not an issue" for Tottenham, but it remains to be seen whether they will make an official move to sign the Japanese star. Arsenal has also been linked with Kubo this summer, but Spurs are likely to push harder than their city rivals to secure his signature.
Kubo, a product of Barcelona’s academy and once signed by Real Madrid, has scored 24 goals and provided 18 assists for Sociedad. A move to the Premier League could be an exciting opportunity for him. Regarded as a "world-class player," Kubo has the potential to become one of the best right-wingers globally.
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is searching for a replacement for Son Heung-Min, and although Son still has several years left at the top level before matching the achievements of the Korean star, Kubo remains a player with huge potential. Tottenham also needs someone who can drive commercial success in Asia after the former captain’s departure, and Kubo fits this requirement perfectly.
Atletico Madrid is also pursuing Kubo, but they are not willing to activate his release clause, which could be good news for Spurs. With only 13 days left before the summer transfer window closes, Tottenham must act quickly if they want to sign Kubo.
