Thailand's women's national team fell 1-3 to Vietnam in the third-place playoff of the Southeast Asian Championship but still set their sights on winning the SEA Games 33 at home this December.
At 3:35 pm today, August 20, the Thailand women's team arrived at Don Mueang Airport after completing their mission at the 2025 ASEAN Women's Football Championship (MSIG Serenity Cup 2025) in Hai Phong, Vietnam.

In this tournament, the Thai women's football team finished fourth. After returning to Thailand, head coach Futoshi Ikeda commented: "If we only consider the results, coming in fourth is not particularly satisfying. However, what is clear to us is the progress made by the players, and that is currently our primary objective.
As I mentioned before, this tournament was not scheduled during FIFA Days, so we did not have players from overseas clubs or from BGC Bundit Asia, who were competing in the Asian Club Championship.
As a result, the Thai squad for this tournament was mostly composed of younger players. However, we focused on improving tactical awareness and implementing our trained system throughout all five matches.
I am confident that the players have gained a wealth of valuable experience, especially when facing the host team Vietnam amid passionate home support, as well as in adapting tactics for different opponents. These are areas we have worked to enhance.
