Coach Mano Polking was taken aback by the decisive victory against Becamex TPHCM and also showed disappointment that CAHN could not acquire Võ Hoàng Minh Khoa at the start of the season.
After returning from a bitter defeat to BG Pathum United, CAHN found joy again with a win over Becamex TPHCM. Alan opened the scoring early for the police team. Then, Trung Hiếu’s red card made it easier for CAHN to play. Quang Hải and Leo Artur each added a goal to help CAHN secure a 3-0 victory overall.
After the match, Coach Polking admitted the result exceeded his expectations.
"Initially, when traveling from Bangkok to Bình Dương stadium, my goal was just to earn points, not to win by such a wide margin.
That’s because I thought this would be a very tough game facing the home team Becamex TPHCM, who were quite motivated after their win against HAGL. In this match, our players took advantage of opportunities better than in the recent game against BG Pathum a few days ago."
During the match, Coach Polking received a yellow card for protesting the referee, but he insisted that complaining was not part of their strategy.
"Protesting the referee is not our tactic; we react only because we want the referee to do a better job, nothing else.
Indeed, during the game, sometimes we complained about certain situations or plays, but that’s normal. In many cases, when we have the advantage, the referee shouldn’t whistle, or vice versa for the opposing team. We just want the game to continue without interruptions. That’s better for football and good for the V-League. Anyway, the referee did a good job today."
Finally, when asked about midfielder Võ Hoàng Minh Khoa, Coach Polking expressed regret that CAHN missed out on signing him.
"Minh Khoa is a fantastic player and exactly the position I need. I really wanted to have Minh Khoa as soon as possible, and missing out on him was very unfortunate."
Following the win over Bình Dương, CAHN will face a tough match against Hà Nội in round 3 of the V-League.
