Disappointed with the midfield, MU unexpectedly receives good news about the 'blockbuster' Baleba

MU recently disappointed by only managing a 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage. However, amid difficulties, MU fans have welcomed positive news regarding the pursuit of Carlos Baleba from Brighton.

In Brighton's 0-2 loss to Everton last weekend, Baleba was surprisingly taken off by coach Fabian Hurzeler right after halftime. Although the German coach initially claimed it was simply a “tactical decision,” multiple sources reveal the deeper reason is directly related to the future of the 21-year-old midfielder.

According to journalist Ross Harwood, Baleba had a private conversation with coach Hurzeler during the break, expressing his desire to leave Brighton and join MU during this summer transfer window.

Additionally, internal reports from Brighton indicate Baleba is still waiting for the two clubs to finalize the last terms. The Cameroonian midfielder is not in the best mental state, as he views this as his “only chance” to move to a major club. This explains why Brighton had to substitute Baleba early to avoid injury risks, given that his future is almost decided.

Notably, despite having knee issues during preseason, Baleba returned to play and lasted 69 minutes in the previous 1-1 draw with Fulham. This shows his physical condition is stable, and if MU reaches an agreement, Baleba could immediately take the field for the “Red Devils.”

From Brighton’s perspective, losing one of their brightest young stars will likely leave coach Hurzeler visibly disappointed. After the Everton defeat, he expressed frustration over the team creating many chances but failing to convert them, and also lamented the severe shortage of attacking players following Joao Pedro’s move to Chelsea and Evan Ferguson’s loan departure.

Currently, all parties are rushing to complete the negotiation procedures. Unless major changes occur, Carlos Baleba is very likely to become Manchester United’s new signing this week, significantly strengthening the Old Trafford club’s midfield ahead of the challenging period ahead.
