Nguyễn Thành Long from Viettel has been newly included in the Vietnam U18 team roster.
Today (August 25), the Vietnam U18 squad officially gathered at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, starting preparations for the Seoul Eou Cup 2025 International Football Tournament. The U18 team, featuring many promising young talents, is given opportunities for training and friendly matches to prepare for important future objectives.
In this training camp, a total of 32 players were called up to the Vietnam U18 squad, including many who participated in the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup final round. This group is considered the core force for the Vietnam U18 team to enhance international match experience and build a foundation for longer-term goals.
According to initial information, Viettel had 4 players summoned: Hoàng Văn Thái, Nguyễn Minh Kỳ, Trần Hồng Kiên, and Nguyễn Hoàng Nam. Nguyễn Thành Long was added later. However, Viettel is not the club contributing the most players, as PVF has up to 10 players included in the Vietnam U18 team.
This camp includes many players who featured at the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup final round such as goalkeeper Hoa Xuân Tín, defenders Nguyễn Hồng Quang and Lê Tấn Dũng, midfielders Đậu Hồng Phong and Nguyễn Văn Khánh, forwards Hoàng Trọng Duy Khang, Nguyễn Văn Bách, and Nguyễn Thiên Phú. This group is viewed as the core squad for the Vietnam U18 team to improve international playing experience and accumulate a foundation for future ambitions.
According to the plan, the Vietnam U18 squad will train in Hanoi until September 19, before traveling to South Korea to participate in the Seoul Eou Cup 2025 international tournament, held from September 21 to 28 in Seoul.
This year’s tournament gathers 8 high-quality youth teams: Vietnam U18 squad, Seoul FA (Seoul’s best U18 selection), K League U18 All Star (K League U18 selection), Gangneung Jungang High School – reigning champions of the Korean High School tournament, Kanto University (Japan), U18 Johor Darul Ta’zim (Malaysia), U18 Buriram United (Thailand), and U18 Zhejiang (China).
