Vietnam U16 girls defeat Myanmar by penalty

(2025 Southeast Asia U16 Girls Results) - Vietnam U16 girls comfortably beat Myanmar to move on to the semifinals topping their group.

Vietnam U16 girls won 2-0 against Myanmar U16 girls in the final group match of the Southeast Asia U16 Girls Championship, thereby earning a spot in the semifinals as group winners.

In the first half, Coach Okiyama Masahiko’s team created several dangerous chances. Minh Anh had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper (12’) and a header close to the post (9’), while Yến Linh and Linh Chi tested Myanmar’s keeper with long-range shots and free kicks. However, the first half ended goalless.

In the second half, the turning point came in the 55th minute when Vietnam U16 was awarded a penalty after the opponent handled the ball inside the box. However, Ngọc Anh’s shot was saved by Myanmar’s goalkeeper. Then at the 68th minute, Vietnam earned another penalty and this time Hồng Thái converted it to open the scoring.

At the 85th minute, Vietnam U16 was awarded a third penalty. Ngọc Anh took the shot again and successfully scored, sealing the 2-0 victory.

With this result, Vietnam U16 girls finished top of their group and confidently qualified for the semifinals.
