Striker Percy Tau has been included by Nam Dinh FC in their squad for the upcoming V-League season.
According to the latest player list on the VPF official website, Nam Dinh FC has finalized seven foreign players for the first half of the 2025/26 V-League season, including defender Lucas Araujo, midfielders Caio Cesar, Romulo Da Silva, Percy Tau, Njabulo Bloom, and two forwards Brenner Malos and Kyle Hudlin. Meanwhile, four foreign players—goalkeeper Caique Santos, Mitchell Dijks, Walber Motta, and Mahmoud Eid—were not registered. Previously, Mahmoud Eid was registered but did not make a strong professional impression, so he was replaced by striker Percy Tau, the team’s highest-valued player.
Percy Tau is valued at up to 1 million euros. Born in 1994, he was once dubbed the “South African Messi.” He began his career at Mamelodi Sundowns before moving to Europe to play for clubs such as Union SG (Belgium), Club Brugge, Anderlecht, and Brighton in the Premier League. Tau has faced many world-class football stars like Messi, Foden, and Kevin De Bruyne. Representing South Africa, he has earned over 40 caps. In the upcoming third round, Percy Tau will have the chance to play in the V-League for Nam Dinh.
This season, Nam Dinh has brought in a high-quality squad with a strong contingent of foreign players. They have nine foreign players listed, including five new signings. These acquisitions not only add variety to their playing style but also enhance the overall team value. Nam Dinh’s aggressive recruitment is understandable as they are competing in four tournaments this year, including two international competitions: the AFC Champions League 2 and the Southeast Asian Club Championship.
In the AFC Champions League 2, Nam Dinh ranks among the top 10 most valuable teams, with a total worth of 9.21 million euros, placing ninth on the list alongside renowned Asian clubs like Al-Nassr, Al-Wasl, Gamba Osaka, and Pohang Steelers.
