A bargain? AC Milan signs Rabiot for €9 million, valued at €25 million—Allegri’s tactics urgently need him.

A fight broke out within Marseille, did Milan seize a bargain? Officially, AC Milan has signed 30-year-old French midfielder Rabiot from Marseille on a three-year contract until 2028. Transfermarkt shows Milan paid €9 million for the transfer, while Rabiot’s value is €25 million, so it’s considered a bargain.

At 30 years old, Rabiot is 1.91 meters tall, left-footed, and versatile in midfield, capable of playing both defensive and attacking roles. Early this season, after a clash with teammates following a defeat, Rabiot was put up for sale by Marseille. He is talented but known as a mama’s boy; his mother, a notorious figure in football circles, frequently demands salary increases. Last season, Rabiot appeared 31 times for Marseille across all competitions, starting 29 matches, totaling 2636 minutes, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists. He is exactly the kind of strong midfielder Allegri urgently needs tactically, as Milan’s midfield is relatively weak and requires a player of Rabiot’s caliber.

Rabiot is an experienced Serie A player, having spent five years at Juventus, where he played 212 matches in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and assisting 16 times. He worked with Allegri at Juventus, and now at AC Milan, their coach-player relationship continues. It is believed Allegri can make good use of Rabiot.
