Coach Patrick Kluivert is under significant pressure with Indonesia participating in the fourth qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup finals.
The future of Coach Patrick Kluivert with the Indonesian national team is under a clear ultimatum. If the Dutch manager fails to secure Indonesia a spot at the 2026 World Cup, he may have to leave immediately. This firm statement comes from Andre Rosiade, Technical Director of Semen Padang Club.
Specifically, Andre Rosiade delivered a direct message to the Dutch strategist as follows: "I have only one message for Coach Patrick Kluivert. If he fails, I advise Kluivert to resign before the federation dismisses him. Indeed, at the fourth round (the stage deciding Asia's remaining spots), if the Indonesian national team fails, I regret to say he will be fired if possible."
However, Rosiade is not inflexible. After warning Kluivert, he also offered a major reward if the former Dutch star achieves this historic goal. He confirmed full support for Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) President Erick Thohir to extend a long-term, even lifetime, contract with the 49-year-old coach:
"That is certain. The person who makes history for the Indonesian national team must be honored and respected. If Kluivert leads Indonesia successfully at the 2026 World Cup, Erick Thohir... will decide to offer him a contract lasting 10 years or even for life. It's up to him. I support Thohir."
Currently, the Indonesian team faces a tough challenge in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers, where they share Group B with strong opponents Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Only the top position in the group guarantees a direct ticket, while the runner-up must enter a very harsh playoff. Therefore, Indonesia must give their all to secure a direct path to North America.
