The 2025 China Sports Lottery National Xiangqi Folk King Championship Guangzhou Division County-Level King Special Event has successfully concluded!

On August 30th, amidst the blazing summer heat, the 2025 China Sports Lottery National Xiangqi Folk King Championship Guangzhou Division County-Level King Special Event came to a successful close amid a clash of passion and intellect. This event not only provided a platform for Xiangqi enthusiasts in Guangzhou to hone their skills and make friends through the game but also showcased the unique charm of China's outstanding traditional culture.

This event was jointly organized by the National Sports General Administration Chess Sports Management Center, the National Sports General Administration Sports Lottery Management Center, and the Chinese Xiangqi Association. It formed an important part of the 6th "Good Luck 'Yi Qi' Comes" National Xiangqi Folk King Championship. Guangzhou Sports Lottery actively responded by setting up a special county-level king event aimed at discovering and nurturing more grassroots Xiangqi talents and promoting the popularization and development of Xiangqi culture.

Since the national preliminary selection began on July 21st, activities in the Guangzhou division have been in full swing. The county-level king special event attracted enthusiastic participation from many Xiangqi lovers. Among them were the "ever-victorious generals" from parks, the "chess masters" from communities, and young players just starting out but full of enthusiasm. After seven intense rounds of competition, Ruan Yekun claimed the title of county-level king in the Guangzhou division. He not only received a generous prize and honor but also earned the respect and praise of many fellow players.

With the successful conclusion of the county-level king special event, the Guangzhou division competition will enter an even more intense phase. Next up are the city-level finals, provincial finals, and ultimately the national finals, all awaiting the challenge of Xiangqi enthusiasts.
