Southeast Asian fans react to Indonesia's overwhelming victory

Indonesia achieved a dominant 6-0 triumph against Taiwan in their latest friendly game. This impressive display has stirred excitement among Southeast Asian fans.

Playing on home ground, Indonesia showcased superior strength. At the 3rd minute, defender Jordi Amat opened the scoring with a precise header. Then, Sananta, Klok, Reijnders, and Sandy Walsh each found the net, allowing Indonesia to fully control the match. This was an opportunity for coach Kluivert to test various tactical options while giving substitutes a chance to prepare for the upcoming 4th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

After the match, Southeast Asian fans left numerous enthusiastic comments. An Iraqi fan named Nina Enkidu shared: “If you keep playing like this, you could beat Saudi Arabia, then there will be a decisive match to determine which team goes straight to the World Cup and which one faces the playoffs. Hopefully, Iraq and Indonesia will both make it to the World Cup.”

Meanwhile, user Adi Fua expressed surprise at the home team's attacking power: “It’s unbelievable to be leading 4-0 after just the first half.”

Some other fans were impressed by the beautiful goals. Adam Endvy commented: “There were some truly classy goals in this match, Indonesia fans.”

However, some opinions suggested that this win does not say much. Fe remarked: “Against Taiwan, even the reserve squad can win easily; this match was just a chance to experiment ahead of the 4th round of World Cup qualifiers.”

Sharing the same view, Winter Mute from Malaysia was not impressed by this victory: “Playing Taiwan is like facing Brunei; winning by a big margin is normal. Let’s see how Indonesia performs against Asia’s top teams.”

Despite differing opinions, the 6-0 win over Taiwan clearly boosts Indonesia’s confidence before entering the 2026 World Cup fourth qualifying round. With the squad gradually improving, coach Patrick Kluivert’s team is receiving high hopes from fans across the archipelago for a historic chance to reach football’s biggest stage.
