The solid triumph against TP Hồ Chí Minh II helped TP Hồ Chí Minh I claim first place following the opening round of the 2025 National Women’s Championship – Thái Sơn Bắc Cup.

The latest match of round one was the city derby between TP Hồ Chí Minh I and TP Hồ Chí Minh II. The reigning champions fielded several substitutes but still easily controlled the game. However, it took until midway through the first half for Thùy Trang and her teammates to find the net.

In the 27th minute, Ngô Thị Hồng Nhung opened the scoring after two close-range attempts, following a precise cross from Thùy Linh. Fifteen minutes later, Nguyễn Thị Kim Yên made an impact with an incredible long-range shot from outside the penalty area.

By the 43rd minute, Thu Thảo easily tapped in to extend TP Hồ Chí Minh I’s lead to three goals. Before the first half ended, Cù Thị Huỳnh Như increased the score to 4-0, assisted by Trần Thị Thùy Trang.

At the start of the second half, coach Đoàn Thị Kim Chi brought on several key players to maintain their rhythm. Trần Nguyễn Bảo Châu added her name to the scoresheet with a very skillful finish.

In the 73rd minute, Hồng Nhung headed the ball, which deflected off a defender, making it 6-0. Towards the end of the match, TP Hồ Chí Minh I scored once more to seal a 7-0 victory over TP Hồ Chí Minh II, moving to the top of the standings in the 2025 National Women’s Championship – Thái Sơn Bắc Cup.

The tournament will take place from September 4 to October 13, 2025, featuring two phases—home and away—at Thanh Trì Stadium and PVF Stadium, with participation from six clubs: Hà Nội, Phong Phú Hà Nam, TP Hồ Chí Minh I, TP Hồ Chí Minh II, Than Khoáng Sản Việt Nam, and Thái Nguyên T&T.
