Harry Kane confirms his happiness at Bayern Munich, ready to commit long-term and not considering a return to the Premier League.
Harry Kane, one of today's leading strikers, has stated that he is fully dedicated to Bayern Munich and has no plans to return to the Premier League anytime soon. Speaking while joining the England squad, the "Three Lions" captain said he is enjoying life in Germany and is open to contract extension talks with Bayern if both parties share the same vision.
While coach Thomas Frank suggested that Tottenham, Kane's former club, would be open to welcoming him back, the 32-year-old striker is increasingly inclined to stay long-term with Bayern.
“At the moment, my full focus is on Bayern. I still have two years left on my contract, so there’s no need to rush. I’m happy here, and so is my family. Having a wife and children greatly influences my future decisions. If Bayern wants to negotiate an extension, I’m ready to discuss it, as long as both sides share the same development goals,” Kane shared.
Kane joined Bayern in 2023 on a four-year deal, with a release clause that decreases over transfer windows. After the 2025/26 season, he will have one year remaining, but moving him away from Allianz Arena will not be easy.
Kane also admitted that returning to the Premier League to break Alan Shearer’s scoring record is no longer his top priority. “When I first left Tottenham, I thought I would definitely come back. But after a few years here, that feeling has changed slightly, though I can’t say for sure that I will return,” he added.
Since moving to Germany, Kane has quickly established himself as a superstar. He helped Bayern win the Bundesliga title and scored over 100 goals in just two seasons, including 18 goals this season, the best start of his career. “In the past, I rarely scored in August for 7 or 8 years straight, but now things are different,” Kane humorously commented.
The English forward also confirmed that he has developed more comprehensively in both mindset and physicality. “I feel like I’m playing the best football of my career. The current Bayern squad is the strongest I’ve ever played with, and I see the game at a higher level,” he observed.
With such impressive form, Kane is aiming for bigger trophies after collecting individual awards like the World Cup Golden Boot and Premier League Golden Boot. “I want to win the Ballon d’Or. To achieve that, I probably need to win the Champions League or the World Cup. Bayern is definitely the place that can help me make that happen,” he admitted.
Kane’s commitment to Bayern not only brings success to him personally but also strengthens the club’s ambition to conquer Europe in the coming years.
