One more Vietnam national team player injured just before the match against Nepal

During the second training session at Gò Đậu, another midfielder from the Vietnam national team suffered a mild muscle strain and was unable to participate on the field.

On the afternoon of October 6, the Vietnam national team held their second training session at Gò Đậu Stadium to prepare for their opening match against Nepal on October 9. After a light first session, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad began intensifying their workouts, focusing more on tactical drills with deeper training exercises.

However, the red-shirted team received more disappointing news as midfielder Nguyễn Đức Chiến had to "sit out" following the first training session. It is known that the player, who belongs to Ninh Bình, suffered a thigh muscle strain and was absent from the second training session with the whole team. Accordingly, Đức Chiến stayed in the hotel gym to do recovery exercises and monitor his condition.

Another player unable to join the current training camp is center-back Bùi Tiến Dũng. Nevertheless, the Thể Công Viettel player is showing positive signs of recovery and might be able to participate in the training on October 7.

The Vietnam national team will have one more day to prepare for their opening match against Nepal on October 9. Speaking about the team’s goals for this competition phase, striker Nguyễn Tiến Linh shared:

“For now, the goal is very clear: to win both matches against Nepal. In November, we will face Laos again, with the aim of securing 3 points. Then in March, when playing Malaysia at home, the entire team will give their all to earn full points and keep the hope of advancing alive.”
