Joshua Zirkzee is willing to exit Manchester United during the January transfer period if he remains ignored by manager Ruben Amorim.
The 24-year-old striker Joshua Zirkzee has yet to start a single match for Manchester United this season. His limited playing time also led to his exclusion from the Dutch national team by coach Ronald Koeman.
According to The Sun, Zirkzee is ready to part ways with Manchester United in the January transfer window if coach Ruben Amorim keeps sidelining him.
As the World Cup next summer approaches, the £43 million signing from Bologna is eager to prove himself in the second half of the season. Last season, Zirkzee was a key player, featuring in 32 Premier League games and 49 matches across all competitions. Although he scored only 3 goals in the Premier League, the striker had earned Ruben Amorim’s trust before suffering a hamstring injury in the April match against Newcastle.
This season, Zirkzee has only made three substitute appearances in the Premier League and was not even selected to start against Grimsby (League Two) in the League Cup. New signings like Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha have moved ahead in the pecking order, leaving the Dutch striker puzzled about why he has been excluded from the plans.
Manchester United refused to let Zirkzee leave in the summer, opting instead to loan Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli. The Italian club initially showed interest in signing Zirkzee, while Juventus and PSV Eindhoven have also expressed their attention.
If the situation remains unchanged, Serie A ambitious club Como may move to sign Zirkzee in the January transfer window, with Juventus continuing to monitor closely. Zirkzee’s current contract with Manchester United runs until 2029, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months.
