Manchester United confirms the locker room still backs Amoralin, firmly refusing to change the manager! Reports reveal Glaser prefers Bayern more

ESPN reports that Manchester United conducted a player survey during the international break to gauge views on head coach Ruben Amoralin, with the club’s leadership confident that most players remain behind him. Consequently, no moves to replace the manager will occur during this period.

Manchester United’s 2-0 victory against Sunderland last Saturday helped alleviate the threat of Amoralin’s dismissal. After the match, goal scorer Mason Mount insisted that despite a poor start setting negative records, the players in the locker room still fully support the coach’s decisions. Defender De Ligt had also expressed his backing for Amoralin earlier.

ESPN reveals that Manchester United CEO Omar Bellard and sporting director Jason Wilcox have engaged with team members, including captain Bruno Fernandes and other senior players, confirming that the squad retains confidence in the current head coach. Although some players have reservations about Amoralin’s tactics and selections.

It is said these discussions were informal and not official negotiations, nor attempts to test player attitudes towards a managerial change. Naturally, the locker room’s support will benefit Amoralin’s future. If the club decides to sack the coach, approval must come from owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazer family. Bellard and Wilcox hold some influence but clearly back Amoralin, as it was Ratcliffe, Bellard, and Wilcox who signed him through 2027.

Manchester United has also learned that following Amoralin’s case, most managers have doubts about coaching the Red Devils mid-season. Oliver Glasner, a leading candidate to replace Amoralin, is unlikely to leave Crystal Palace mid-term despite having less than a year left on his contract. Moreover, Glasner reportedly dreams of managing Bayern Munich one day. Palace is willing to support his ambition by renewing his contract with a special release clause enabling a Bayern move at any time.

According to British media, after opening the new first-team building at Carrington in August, communication between Manchester United’s management, coaches, and players has significantly increased. Bellard and Wilcox both have offices there and interact more frequently with staff and players in the newly designed communal spaces.

Previously, Richard Arnold mostly worked at Old Trafford rather than Carrington. Ed Woodward had offices at both the Theatre of Dreams and Carrington. Woodward’s reason for sacking Mourinho was based on the belief that the locker room no longer supported the coach, especially Paul Pogba.

Certainly not every Manchester United fan supports Amoralin, let alone believes he can lead the team to a revival and title win. Some fans jokingly said, "As long as we support Amoralin, Manchester United will win the league next season and successfully return to the Premier League!" implying Amoralin might cause relegation.

GIVEMESPORT states that Bellard and Wilcox are planning upgrades to Carrington’s youth academy and women’s team facilities to match the first team’s standards. Manchester United spent £50 million renovating the men’s first-team facilities and £10 million on the women’s training ground; the next step will be improving the youth infrastructure.

Bellard and Wilcox have clearly defined their goal: to make Manchester United’s youth academy the best in the world. This ambition aligns with owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s dream, and these two former Manchester City executives are determined to achieve it. Former United sporting director Dan Ashworth was dismissed just five months after appointment due to conflicts with Ratcliffe.
