FIFA has announced great news for the Vietnam Football Federation.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan has been named by FIFA to serve on the National Team Competitions Committee for the 2025-2029 period.

On October 7, 2025, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) officially announced the appointment of Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) – as a member of FIFA’s National Team Competitions Committee for the 2025-2029 term.

According to the document sent to VFF, FIFA stated that the appointment decision was approved by the FIFA Council during the meeting on October 2, 2025, and emphasized their support and facilitation to help Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan successfully fulfill his duties in this new role.

The FIFA National Team Competitions Committee is responsible for advising and consulting the FIFA Council in planning strategies, organizing, and managing major international tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, FIFA U-20 World Cup, FIFA U-17 World Cup, and other competitions under the FIFA system.

Currently, Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan holds several important positions in continental and regional football organizations, including: Member of the AFC Executive Committee, Chairman of the AFC and AFF Competitions Committee, and member of the AFC Asian Cup Organizing Committee for the 2023-2027 term. Recently, he was also entrusted by the AFC to serve as the Head of the Men’s Football Executive Board for the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan.

In addition to appointing Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan to the FIFA National Team Competitions Committee, the Vietnam Football Federation also has two other representatives appointed to FIFA’s specialized committees: Secretary General Nguyen Van Phu to the FIFA Medical Committee and Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Thanh Ha to the FIFA Women’s Football Committee.

The trust placed in Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan and the VFF representatives to hold roles within FIFA further confirms the prestige and status of both the VFF and Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan personally within the international football community. This milestone also contributes to enhancing the image of Vietnamese football globally and creates more opportunities to contribute to the overall development of world football.
