Ho Chi Minh City Police FC has just announced the signing of Lee Williams, a British-Vietnamese player from Viettel Army FC.
On the morning of October 8, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC officially revealed that striker Williams Lee has joined the team. Born in 2007 and standing an impressive 1.90m tall, he will wear the number 33 jersey for the police-affiliated club.
This forward previously played for Warrington Town in the English sixth division on loan from Stockport County. There, Williams appeared in 16 matches, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist. Notably, he also featured in the English League Cup for Stockport County during the 2024/2025 season.
Returning to Vietnam for the 2025/26 season, Williams signed with Viettel Army FC. However, since the club already registered two overseas Vietnamese slots for Damian Vũ Thanh and Kyle Colonna, Williams was likely loaned to Ho Chi Minh City Police FC to gain experience and develop. At only 18 years old, Williams Lee still needs time to learn and refine his skills.
Regarding this young talent, Viettel Army FC’s coach Velizar Popov commented: “I believe William has great potential to become a star in the V.League. At 18, he has plenty of time to learn and grow.”
With Williams Lee joining, coach Lê Huỳnh Đức will have more options in the attacking lineup of Ho Chi Minh City Police FC. If Williams puts in effort and secures playing opportunities, he could become one of the key players for the club this season.
Importantly, Williams Lee is also awaiting procedures to obtain Vietnamese citizenship. If successful, he could represent the national teams in the future. With his ideal height and professional training background, Williams Lee promises to be a valuable prospect for Vietnamese football in the years to come.
