The prodigy who once ranked among the world's top 60 has been urgently called up to Vietnam's U23 team.

Young star Lê Đình Long Vũ, previously ranked in the top 60 global young talents in 2023, has been added to the Vietnam U23 team for the upcoming training session in the UAE.

Vietnam's U23 national team received more good news during their preparations for the international training camp in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as young striker Lê Đình Long Vũ (born 2006) was officially called up to join the squad.

With this decision, Sông Lam Nghệ An now has three players represented in the Vietnam U23 team: Cao Văn Bình, Trần Nam Hải, and Lê Đình Long Vũ.

On October 7th, the Vietnam U23 team departed for the UAE to begin their training camp and international friendly matches. This phase is crucial in their preparation plan for the 33rd SEA Games scheduled for December, as well as for the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

During the training camp in the UAE, the coach and his team will play two high-quality friendlies against the Qatar U23 team on October 9th and 13th. These matches serve as opportunities for the coaching staff to test the lineup, experiment with tactics, and assess the form of young players, including Lê Đình Long Vũ.

Born in 2006, this player is well-known among Vietnamese football fans. He made a significant impression when the renowned British magazine The Telegraph included him in the list of the top 60 most promising young talents worldwide in 2023, following his outstanding performance with U19 Sông Lam Nghệ An at the National U19 Championship that year.

In the current season, Long Vũ has appeared 5 times for Sông Lam Nghệ An’s first team in the V.League, making valuable contributions to the team's overall play. According to Transfermarkt statistics, his current market value is approximately 125,000 Euros, an impressive figure for a 19-year-old player.
