The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) officially appointed “Madame Pang” Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand, as Chairperson of the Development Committee for the 2025–2029 term. This is the first time in history that a woman has taken the top leadership role in this committee.
According to the announcement released by FIFA following the Council meeting on October 7, 2025, Ms. Nualphan Lamsam – commonly known as “Madame Pang” – was formally approved as Chairperson of FIFA’s Development Committee for the 2025–2029 term.
The Development Committee is one of FIFA’s most important Standing Committees, operating under President Gianni Infantino and the FIFA Council. The selection of “Madame Pang” for this position is regarded as a historic milestone, not only for Thai football but also for the global game, as she becomes the first woman entrusted with the highest leadership role in FIFA’s development sector. This event further confirms Ms. Nualphan’s growing influence, capability, and significance in both regional and international football.
Additionally, FIFA appointed Mr. Lertsak Pathanchaykul, a member of the Thai Football Association Council, as a permanent member of the Member Associations Committee, helping to elevate Thailand’s football status internationally.
From Vietnam, Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn, President of the Vietnam Football Federation, was also appointed as a member of FIFA’s National Team Competitions Committee for the 2025-2029 term. VFF Secretary General Nguyễn Văn Phú was appointed to the Medical Committee, while Deputy Secretary General Nguyễn Thanh Hà joined the Women’s Football Committee.
