Nepal National Team Arrives, Ready to Face Vietnam at the Asian Cup

The Nepal squad is now in Vietnam gearing up for two significant games in the 2027 Asian Cup qualification round.

On the evening of October 7th, the Nepal team, consisting of 23 players, landed at Tan Son Nhat Airport, quickly completed immigration procedures, and traveled to Thu Dau Mot ward, Ho Chi Minh City to get ready for the first leg of the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers (Group F), scheduled for 7:30 PM on October 9th at Binh Duong Stadium (Go Dau).

After a long flight from Nepal, by 11 PM on October 7th, all coaches and players had reached Elizabeth Hotel, their accommodation base. Earlier, goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong had arrived ahead of the team, having flown directly to Vietnam after his previous match. He is one of the notable players, having played 107 matches for Nepal’s national team, alongside forward Anjan Bista, who has scored 13 goals in 70 appearances for the South Asian nation.

Due to the lengthy journey, the Nepal players showed signs of fatigue, but the organizers and hotel staff warmly welcomed them and arranged everything carefully. The team had a light meal before resting.

According to the schedule, representatives of the Nepal team will attend a technical meeting at 3 PM today (October 8th), followed by head coach Matt Ross and player Kiran Kumar Limbu participating in a pre-match press conference at Binh Duong Stadium (Go Dau). The Nepal team will also have a one-hour session to familiarize themselves with the stadium and weather conditions before the match at 7:30 PM tomorrow (October 9th).
